The moment that rescue divers Rick Stanton and John Volanthen found 12 Thai schoolboys and their soccer coach after nearly 10 days in a flooded cave is difficult to forget.

“How many are you?” Mr. Stanton said, waving a flashlight toward the bedraggled, hungry boys. “13? Brilliant!”

It was the latest in a long series of rescue missions undertaken by the British duo, widely regarded as among a select few cave divers with the necessary skills and experience to find a path to youngsters cut off deep inside. “They are the best in the business,” said another diver

We don’t get them from Safe Spaces, that’s for sure.

I don’t know the answer to that question, but they did The Lord’s work this time.

Women could have done it better than these men, but they couldn’t get away from the Protest at the Supreme Court.

I am still puzzled why white supremacists would risk their lives to save children of color. /S

You bring up a good point. As militaries throughout the west are tripping over each other to include women in special forces type units...only men helped in the cave rescue.

I doubt these guys came from the “juice box and a participation ribbon” generation.

I don’t know how you could argue with that! This rescue came out much better than all the internet experts and media pundits predicted and that’s got to be because of these men.

True heroes. If they get to the US I’m sure Potus will invite them to the WH and they will go.

I’ve heard that a Thai special forces guy died when he ran out of oxygen...while delivering oxygen (?).

How does that happen? ...or maybe I’ve misheard.

We will never know, but I would bet that American Navy Seals were there and were the reason the rescue succeeded.

Things were not going well for a while until it was announced that *experts from other nations* were called to help. They, IMO, were American Navy Seals...after that announcement...kids came out rapidly and successfully...

Just my opinion...

I think what he was doing was setting up oxygen tanks along the pathway for when the kids were guided out.

Read up on Mae Bua ChaiCheun.

She hauled large amounts of food from her farm every other day, prepared and cooked it for the rescue crews. And she lost her farm in the process.

She's a hero alright. She kept those rescue crews fed and strong.

US Navy Seals are responsible for training Seal teams around the world. Their methods and rigor are copied by every such force in the world.

US Navy Seals may not have led this effort, but we can be assured those Thai Seals would pay respects to US Navy Seals for their training.

There were Americans on the scene though at the rescue site.

Some former US Seals were talking on FOX Sunday about the Thai Navy Seals - gave them high marks. Said also that language was not a problem - the Thai Navy Seals spoke English well. The US trains with them on what SEALS normally train on - combat & salvage operations. Cave rescue was something ‘new’ for all of them, but it was handled professionally & well, thus the good outcome.
