I think in this case it’s an example of everything being shared. There are 330+ million people in the US. I’ve seen plenty of videos of people doing all sorts of stupid stuff, including getting themselves killed. It’s nothing new. What’s new is that there is now always a camera around and someone to post the video.

Thank God for the cameras, because now we can identify sociopaths and the next school shooters.

The same as with corrupt law enforcement and sexual abuse of children.
Those things didn’t blossom at all in recent years, but now there are ubiquitous cameras so denial of them is hard to maintain.
