A 26-year-old Missouri man pleaded guilty to a terrorism charge Thursday for bringing an Amtrak train to a stop in southwest Nebraska last October and sending passengers into a panic.

Taylor M. Wilson, of St. Charles, Missouri, also pleaded guilty to possessing an unregistered 9 mm CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 rifle, one of several guns FBI agents found in a search of his home, as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors there.

Several other counts will be dismissed at his sentencing Oct. 5.

"Why did you stop it (the train)?" Magistrate Judge Cheryl Zwart asked Wilson at his plea hearing Thursday.

"I was high," Wilson answered.

His attorney plans to ask for a sentence of between 9 and 11 years for Wilson. This is in light of his "limited criminal record."

He could theoretically face life in prison for "threatening to disable railroad on-track equipment," and as many as 10 additional years for "possession of an unregistered firearm" in a state case against him.

His mom told him he "did well" as guards ushered him out of the courtroom. Apparently she was referring to his behavior in court.

Wilson is being held at the Saline County jail in Wilber.

Not seeing how this is terrorism. An act that might be done for terrorism purposes, yes. Terrorism? No. Terrorism requires a terroristic motivation. It’s part of the definition. Remove that from the definition, and the lefties who oppose the sort of Acts containing such laws will technically be correct: if motive isn’t part of the definition of terrorism than bombing ISIS or AQII is terrorism.

> unregistered?

Lincoln Nebraska has some strange gun laws. You would think NE would be a freedom-loving place.

“pleaded guilty to possessing an unregistered 9 mm CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 rifle,”

So what unless it’s a full auto.

“Missouri man pleads guilty to terrorism charge for stopping Amtrak train in Nebraska”

So stopping a train is “terrorism” while shutting down interstate highways like they did in Chicago last week isn’t? Oh I see, one white jagoff vs a mob of black folks led by a white communist faux priest.

“Not seeing how this is terrorism. “

What isn’t “terrorism” anymore given all the stupid laws congress passed and Bush signed in the panicky wake of 9/11.

That gun used to be made in a full-auto version; maybe he had one of those rare ones.
