What Trump should say while in UK

Posted on 07/13/2018 6:34:03 AM PDT by Tell It Right

At every stop in England Trump should quote our 1st Amendment and highlight perhaps the #1 deference between us and England.

He should say that the UK had better stop throwing people in prison for revealing the truth about m*slims raping people.

Disagree.

England preexists the First Amendment, it is quaint to think nations should adopt policies at the request of visiting guests.

As a US citizen, I discount any condescending ‘recommendation’ from foreign guests.

You and I are in some agreement, CharleysPride. I think the difference is just who is the nation Trump’s message would be for? I think you see England’s “nation” as her leaders, which would hate that message. While I see England’s “nation” as her masses, most of which would agree wholeheartedly with that message. So the way I see it, the message would be confirming the U.K. nation’s desires.

It was a dud, no doubt.

You raise good points, in my post I went back and forth over people, country, nation as descriptions and still got it wrong.

It’s just as a guest sometimes criticism of the elite and institutions, even narrowly tailored - still comes off as telling people what to do. Hopefully, people can see beyond, but it often seems to be the case..

Sorry, cutting caffeine intake in half and I suddenly can’t write coherently.

Here is exactly what I would love to hear him say: “I have wasted enough time here trying to talk some sense into your leaders thick skulls. And since you want me here almost as much as I want to be here...adios! I am heading home to fire my deputy AG and to put out an Amber Alert to try a find my AG to do the same to him. To the folks back home please understand that its possible Mr. Sessions has developed Alzheimer’s and is wandering aimlessly through the streets of DC mumbling something about arresting all those evil pot smokers. So if anyone sees a grey haired feeble old guy looking somewhat like an overgrown Keebler Elf please slap some zip ties on his wrist and drop him off at the White House gate, or save me some time and just toss him in the Potomac. And to the Brittish people I want to thank you so much for your typical rude Brittish behavior during my short visit and I hope we American patriots can return the discourtesy you have shown us very soon. Oh and by the way, I just ordered 200% tarrifs on everything from Brittian.”
