This is what they used to call the Atkins diet. Get an Atkins book from a used bookstore for practically nothing.
And use the internet to check carbs in vegetables, some are loaded.

My brother has type 2. His wife is a nurse. Last time I saw them, she was feeding him 2 slices of pie for dessert after a carb heavy meal. For a medical professional, she’s absolutely clueless.

Even the American Diabetis Association pushes a “balanced” diet with carbs. They are not looking for a cure.

Yes, he does. Via his podcast I’ve been blessed to learn about Jordan Peterson & his daughter & their dietary journey back to wellness.

Then we learned about Doctor Baker on Rogan.

I’ve been on a low carb diet since 2015. I’ve lost 95 lbs so far. In 2 weeks & am going to go zero carb for a month to see if I can rid myself of some belly fat I cannot exercise away.

All because Rogan’s show planted the seed/need to learn more about it all.

People dont understand the body requires fats from animals and some dairy to work well.

Stuffing your face and eating way more of anything - anything - will make you unhealthy and put on the poundage. The more calorie dense they are, the more weight you will fain.

This is interesting stuff. I actually met with Virta when I was doing a consulting gig with a large financial institution who was looking for innovative ways to help their diabetic population. Virta was a tad too “radical” for this company, so they settled on Livongo, a digital solution.

But the outcomes from Virta are really compelling. More than likely we all “should” be on some type of ketogenic diet.

I am most interested in learning about getting those gut bugs turned to good.
I had lots of good with Keto diets and my diabetes in the past.
Now it seems like I can’t get the Keto without still getting high sugar readings even eating 0 carbs.
The only way I can get to feeling better is 0 carbs and quit the Metformin and Glimipride.
But, like I said, the sugar still edges up.
Probably need more exercises.

They tell americans to eat the same diet they feed to cattle to put on weight fast, but tell people its going to keep them thin.

And since they also dumbed down the schools, we have an obesity epidemic of unquestioning, unthinking people.

You subtract the fiber grams from the total carbs. Atkins says you can also subtract the “sugar alcohols” from the total carbs, too. That is how my wife and I approach it.

Yes, of course, it does slow the weight loss. Check the carbs and sugars in alcohol and you’ll see why.

It’s the craziest thing. While reviewing my glucose meter after I had been low carbing and working out like mad for three months, the nurse congratulated me on putting my Type 2 into remission. Then she wanted to know what I was eating and when I told her, she shook her head and kindly told me I needed a lot more carbs daily. So to clarify, I asked her if she really thought I needed more carbs every day and she said yes. Then I said that carbohydrates break down into glucose so what she wanted me to do was basically eat more sugar, right? She laughed a little and said I didn’t really understand. It was my turn to laugh and I said that yes, I understood.
