If there were no metal remains and they think these were soldiers, then the probably would not be high status ones or some ornamental weapons or decorations on weapons should probably have survived. That, or they did not follow the old Egyptian beliefs regarding life after death. Foreigners??? I suppose they will be able to examine the bones for DNA, mineral content, and other signs of origin and nationality.
3 of the 4 guys who were on guard duty.
# 4 set them up for the grave robbers. Once the coffin was cleaned out they dumped the dead guys in and put the lid back.
When the next shift shows up # 4 says “I don’t know where the other guys are. I went out for coffee and when I got back they were gone.”
