‘Mission: Impossible: – Fallout’ Review: Best Action Movie Since ‘Dark Knight’
Breitbart's Big Hollywood ^ | 7-27-2018 | John Nolte

Posted on 07/27/2018 1:15:48 PM PDT by Bratch

Other than the near dud that was number two, the Mission: Impossible franchise, most especially entries four and five, have delivered a spectacular time at the movies.

Everything that is Tom Cruise — his thirty years experience, his tireless drive to stay on top, his relentless quest to entertain and thrill, his belligerent refusal to spoil our good time with politics and messaging — he pours all of this into his baby, his golden goose, his Big Movie Star insurance program; and with Fallout, the sixth in the series, he delivers the best action movie since Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight left us all sockless a decade ago.

In other words...James Bond who?

the best action movie in the last 6 years is John Wick. There’s a lot of hype about this Im thinking Scientology checks are big this time of year

It was tooooo long, to drawn out, to slow. My wife guessed who the bad guy was about 10 min in and in good news, Alec Baldwin dies about half way through.

Rebecca Ferguson made the last Mission Impossible a BLOCKBUSTER IMHO

I wonder if the reviews for her in this movie are just as good as her last Mission Impossible?

Aside from Baldwin, et al. Regarding Mission Impossible: We took in film last night, mainly because it’s hot and we wanted to cool off…seriously. The film is fast action; one needs a scorebook to keep up with who the bad guys are, etc. The stuntmen and women must have had quite a time filming this one; some terrific scenes and I read where TC does most, if not all, of his action scenes. An unbelievable script/story, but accompanied by good acting and great scenery, gives you two hours and 27 minutes of relief from the day’s political and social disputes, this said even though the world is about to be destroyed by nuclear bombs…is that an oxymoron? Anyway, we did find some relief from the scorching temperatures outside.

Haven't voluntarily watched anything with Tom Cruise since the laughable Last Samurai. Problem is, I tend toward watching actors who can actually act.

I saw Equalizer 2 last weekend - pretty good but the original was better. I'll probably see this one this weekend.

Dark Knight is the worst crap I have seen in years. I haven’t been back to a movie theater since.

Cruise is a very good actor.

My favorite of his is “Last Samurai”, but every other movie is 3 to 4 stars. They are very watchable.

I’ve liked the Bonds from Pierce Brosnan onward. The earlier Bonds were good, too, but they had that silliness aspect that sometimes overcame the suspension of disbelief.

“the best action movie in the last 6 years is John Wick.”

John Wick was very enjoyable and pleasantly I found the sequel was also excellent and energetic. Definitely no Jeb!
