A conversation about music (humor vanity)
Semi-original content | 8/6/2018 | By Laz A. Mataz (expanding on an existing joke)

A conversation about music:

Me: "Guess Who" wrote the song "American Woman".

Them: Who?

Me: No, "Guess Who".

Them: WHO???

Me: No, I'm telling you. Who wrote "Tommy".

Them: Yes.

Me: No, "Yes" wrote "Roundabout".

Them: Who wrote Roundabout?

Me: No, "Yes".

Them: YES OR NO?

Me: "Yes Or No" was written by The Go Gos.

Them: Who?

Me: No. The band was "The Go Go's".

Them: I thought "The Band" did a cover of "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down."

Me: Yes.

Them: No, "The Band".

Me: YES.

Them: No! "The Band"! This is for the birds.

Me: "The Byrds" broke up a long time ago.

Both of us together: THIRD BASE!

"The Band" did a cover of "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down."

Cover? What the heck? Is this person a moron?

"The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" is a song written by Robbie Robertson and originally recorded by the Canadian-American roots rock group the Band in 1969.

Very good.

See if you can expand it a bit. Get a friend to do it with you, post it on youtube, and you'll get hits.

I’m just hoping you didn’t think Joan Baez sung it first. :-)

I LOVED when the Byrds sang “Eight Mile Road!” Wow, didn’t know M&M was that old.

Sorry, got Eight Mile Road confused with Rocky Mile High by Denver Springfield.

Mr. Hickenlooper—a newspaper editor
Barry Luff—a rock and roll promoter
Who, Guess Who? and Yes—rock and roll bands

Luff: There are just going to be three headliners; three super groups
Hickenlooper: We’ll start with the first one
Luff: Fine
Hickenlooper: Who’s on first?
Luff: Who’s on first.
Hickenlooper: Who is on first?
Luff: Who.
Hickenlooper: Who?
Luff: Who.
Hickenlooper Who?
Luff: Who.
Hickenlooper: Who? Who’s on first?
Luff: That’s right.

And so on...
