"A decision made by a police officer in a split second can determine whether someone lives or dies."

"The video shot from the dashboard of a state police cruiser shows Seiple trying to arrest Clary for driving under the influence. Clary breaks away and the troopers spend about a minute trying to subdue him until Clary dashes for his car and pulls out a gun."

Anybody remember when that female Arkansas cop shot that uncooperative black guy going back to his truck?

THIS is why you don’t let them go back to their truck.

I think re-Tasering is the way to go if they get back up followed immediately by a face full of pepper spray. Just nail their senses.

And some faster way to immobilize them — lasso cable ties around the feet, something.

I remember the one where male cop pulled over a vn vet in a pickup. Goriest one I ever seen.

If he had allowed the police to take him into custody, no tasing, no beating, no gunfight.

I suspect he was concerned with them finding the gun.

One article says that the trooper stopped him for speeding, and was about to let him go.

Then they did the field sobriety test. After that they attempted to arrest him.

Sounds like he may be mentally impaired.

There actually is such a thing. It’s a sticky foam. Video is here:

The Pocono mountains is a very dangerous place after you peel back the post card charm. Sort of like Deliverence meets Blue Velvet. Locals who just want to be left alone and no local cops. Just state patrols.

Spray insulating foam. Sticky as all get out. Or maybe some super sticky silly string - like Spiderman's web.

Sounds like he may be mentally impaired.

Anyone who would open fire on a police officer during a traffic stop is clearly mentally impaired, QED.

And keep in mind that this was two troopers on the stop.

Usually it is a lone trooper on traffic stops and the suspect will size him or her up as to resisting.

Most likely the perp was a felon that did time in prison and learned how to take down a police officer easily.

"...this was two troopers on the stop..."

Pennsylvania State Trooper Seth Kelly reportedly stands 6’4” and 230 pounds. He is clearly a big guy in the video.

“Pennsylvania State Trooper Seth Kelly reportedly stands 6’4” and 230 pounds. He is clearly a big guy in the video.”

Thank you that confirms what I said about felons trained in techniques to fight the police. Obviously that person was more than anxious and confident in taking on both troopers.

Trooper Kelly’s height size of LEO is a rarity today.

Considering that police departments no longer have physical size requirements, more and more police officers are female and very few - stressing very few - females can match a male one to one perpetrator in physical fighting.

LAPD “There is no minimum or maximum height or weight limit. However, Your weight must be appropriate for your height and build.”

Nothing in the article about him having prior convictions.

I watched the video. I am not convinced the “field sobriety test” would hold up.

The trooper changed his mind and decided to arrest him on suspicion of marijuana use. That was the one thing they *did not* convict him of.

I wouldn’t be surprised if all the B.L.M. propaganda influenced him to fight.

If you are making a comment on FR at least read the article.

It was the trooper that was clinically dead not the perpetrator.

“Kelly was shot four times during the exchange of gunfire Nov 7, 2017, on the side of Route 33 in Plainfield Township.

He arrived at a local hospital clinically dead. He spent 12 days in a medically-induced coma and 25 days in the hospital. He doesn’t remember the shootout.”

This also shows how difficult it is to subdue someone who is determined to fight and why cops inflict pain on those who resist. Everybody squawks about police brutality. Let them try to wrestle some guy like that and get him in cuffs.

Thank God that both troopers lived and thank God for a jury with some common sense.

The guy shouldnm’t be facing decades of prison time.

He should be facing the chair, or better yet, a firing squad.

“Sounds like he may be mentally impaired.”

Sounds like he was under the influence at the time. News from his trial mentioned a prior head injury.

So he was mentally impaired, high and driving with a loaded pistol. Then there’s the black attitude component.

That’s someone that’s deadly and needs to be removed from society. Period.
