Protein and fat from healthy animals, no seed oils, and (almost) no processed grain food, you should be good to go for 100 years. Our gut bugs do want us to eat starchy carbs, but they should be natural, like rice, a few grains alone, not baked into crap, and best starches from vegetable roots like tubers. 1 serving or less of fruit a day. Rare dessert. If it doesn’t cause digestive problems, even a little natural, minimally processed bread would be ok.

It’s more a cumulative thing. If you eat a healthy, clean diet all week, of course you can share someone’s birthday cake.

Correct!

Cured patients are no longer customers.

And another study...

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30114226

High protein intake is associated with low plasma NAD+ levels in a healthy human cohort.

High protein diets may accelerate aging more than we thought

Come back when you are scientifically sure.

I’m guessing there’s something wrong other than diet.

I like the idea of clean food but there are lots of people with boundless energy who eat food that would never pass muster with the clean food crowd so I’m going to say that’s not the problem.

I drink about a quart of heavy cream weekly plus lots of other dairy and I just spent two months in the middle of the desert humping it daily and I had plenty of energy. I don’t think dairy is the problem.

Naturally lettuce is worthless as a source of nutrition other than fiber. Maybe look there but I’m guessing the problem is somewhere else.

I love what you did!

If you don’t do this already, let me add to your health. Zero carb means you can’t keep the healthiest gut bugs in yer belly. May I suggest you add to your cool to warm not hot) drinks (including water, whatever you drink, or even nice full fat yogurt) either potato starch or inulin? It’s the lowest carb way to feed your gut bugs the resistant starch the good ones need. Plus since it isn’t digested it probably is a zero carb addition to you! Start with one tbsp a day.

You will have some vivid dreams and a bit more well being, as well as better digestion. Ignore if you are already on top of it but remember that our bacterial biome helps our thinking and psychology. You don’t want to ignore them, and you don’t want to add a bunch of heavy carbs to your diet. Try those two powders. Inulin is better, but more expensive. Potato starch is dirt cheap.

Some people lose weight by just cutting out half their carbs.

Tell her to get some mushrooms and Fresh Kale and green beans and celery and carrots and broccoli and onions and a bit of garlic and sautee it up in some butter and olive oil and you have a lot of the stuff you need.

Cravings come from the gut bacteria species we do not WANT to have. Best to go quite low carb and no sugar for a bit to kill them off, then add in only veggies and root veggies as your carbs, and you will get gut bugs that actively crave roasted beets, etc. I’ve done it. It works. The bugs are very persuasive.

I lost about fifty pounds over the summer of my sixteenth year on a low carb diet that had an upper limit of 55 grams. I probably consumed less than ten each day for two months, and had my first real job burning calories like mad, to achieve that result. You’re right. A “limit” of 160 grams (almost six ounces) is ludicrous. Besides, refined sugar bears a similar resemblance to unrefined carbs like starches and whole grains as cocaine does to coca leaves. Refining anything down to its addictive core is where real trouble starts. It changes something nature has built us to handle into poison.

Adam’s children ate meat.

They all lived 800-900 years.

10,000 years ago the universe was not here, nor was time; it hadn’t been invented yet.

“I love what you did!”

Thanks. It’s working wonderfully for me. For me right now, the notion of adding anything at this time is just not in the cards. I’ve gone through too much for too long to risk adding anything I am not 100% certain cannot harm me.

Thanks for the suggestions as I’m sure they are based on helpful intentions. I will give them some thought & research the info. There is a large group of carnivores in a facebook group called, Zeroing In On Health & some of those folks talk about biome issues now & then.
