White House counsel Donald McGahn has been cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller in his probe into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, according to an explosive New York Times report published Saturday.
McGahn has reportedly discussed accounts of multiple episodes at the center of Mueller's probe into whether President Trump obstructed justice. Sources told the Times that McGahn has had three voluntary interviews with Mueller's team totaling 30 hours.
Among the episodes McGahn reportedly discussed with investigators is Trump’s firing last year of former FBI Director James Comey and the president's repeated urging of Attorney General Jeff Sessions to claim oversight of the special counsel despite his recusal from Russia probes.

You cant! That would be “obstruction of justice”. By the way. If you harbor illegal aliens in a sanctuary city, is that NOT “obstruction of Justice”? If you fix an investigation into Hillary’s thousands of crimes, is that NOT “Obstruction of Justice?”. If you allow 2000 people to be shot in Chicago, THIS YEAR and sit on your ass, is that NOT “ obstruction of justice”? What is obstruction of justice? The president cant obstruct justice because he cannot obstruct himself!!
Let’s not forget that Trump fired Comey at the behest of Rosenstein and Sessions, who both wrote memos recommending that he do so. Subsequently, this weasel Rosenstein appoints Mueller to investigate Trump for doing what HE recommended that he do. The Comey dismissal also validated by the IG Report!!!

IOW, there need not be some underlying crime in order for a person to "obstruct justice."
That said, it is ab abuse of power to investigate without probable cause, but the threshold for "abuse" is set high, making abuse inevitable, and I would say "the norm."
Mueller is elevating the process over substance, and indeed over the overarching principle of the law, to do public good by playing an honest role in seeking justice.
