“On the border” is a better collection of songs. Every cut is great except for “good day in hell.”
I kinda prefer the stuff with Bernie Leadon.
Greatest hits albums are not real albums.
But, having met him a few times, Don Henley is a down to earth dude.
The Eagles first hit wasn’t until 1971 and Brown wasn’t elected until 1974.

I followed Bernie leadon when he was with the Birds and then Dillard & Clark and then finally when he joined the Eagles. All of their legal stuff as Bernie leadon in it.

Hotel California was on Vol.2. The Very Best Of (Eagles album) combines everything from both greatest hits albums.
So the album to finally top Thriller was a collection of cherry-picked songs from previous albums?
I don’t own albums from either artist or group, so no real dog in the fight. But it doesn’t seem like a proper comparison to me.

They did a couple of good things...but there were many groups far better.
a fair argument, nevertheless proper respect is in order for the Eagles.
Their great music depicting American life is appreciated by every generation since the 1970’s, and won’t be duplicated by anyone else.
