The Hugo’s have been completely taken over by the leftists. The conservative voting block has been completely sidelined

From a few years ago, I think “The Three Body Problem” Liu Cixin, is a worthy winner of the Hugo. Not PC and no US cultural agenda. Its very Chinese and quite “hard” SF.

Why does Chavez have an award in this country?

Bujold’s 7th Hugo, her 2nd in the new Series category. If you count the retro-Hugo’s,, and you should, Heinlein holds his lead at 11. Lois is firmly in second place. ALL her stuff is worth reading. The only other winner I knew was Wonder Woman.

Other than Lo Bujold (who I’ve met, and is a lovely person), all SJWs.

The Hugo Award is effectively worthless for selling books anymore. Heck, N.K. Jemisin, who got the Hugo for Best Novel two years in a row, keeps begging for Patreon donations for her “expenses”.

Read as “rent and groceries”. . .

Yep. The Sad Puppies pointed that several years ago. A brief glance at the Best New Writers list is pretty revealing. Six authors - no men. In SF. Right.

I read that. Was really impressed with the writing, but even more by the skill of the translator.

I am trying to decide if I keep my Analog SFSF subscription when it expires.

Over half the stories include gay lovers, and most include climate alarmism.

Very disappointing after 40+ years.

I guess that’s what happens when a magazine exists in the terrestrial world in NYC, LA and San Francisco. No idea of balance.

The Collapsing Empire, by John Scalzi (Tor). Anything by Scalzi is great.

New York 2140, by Kim Stanley Robinson (Orbit). Ignore the leftism.

Raven Stratagem, by Yoon Ha Lee (Solaris). Good.

I had heard that too. The awards are going to sub par writing that follow some SJW theme. Isnt that man boob hipster Scalzy part of this?

Not interested in the whiny leftist crap pushed by the Hugo Awards. Give me Dragon awards any day.

Try Sad Puppies. I am not interested in Marxist propaganda barely disguised as mediocre science fiction.

The idea that SF is historically and predominantly by and for heterosexual males is an oppressive heteronormative narrative contrived by privileged white males desperately projecting their toxic masculinity upon a more enlightened society.
