APNewsBreak: University accepted $458K from eugenics fund [University of Arizona]

The University of Arizona has accepted years of funding from a foundation infamous for promoting research linking race and intelligence — even after other universities and organizations, including white nationalist groups, stopped receiving support from the group, records show.

A University of Arizona psychology professor used some of the Pioneer Fund’s grant money to pay for recent travel to a conference in London that has included eugenics-themed presentations, according to documents The Associated Press obtained through a public records request. The eugenics movement has included theories about the controlled breeding of humans to “improve” the gene pool.

The Pioneer Fund was created by textile heir Wickliffe Draper in 1937 to — in the words of its original charter — advocate for “race betterment.” The organization has promoted eugenics and financially supported “race scientists” who maintain that blacks are intellectually and genetically inferior to whites.

The private, tax-exempt foundation in Maryland gave nearly $7.8 million to 48 organizations or individuals from 1998 to 2016, including nearly $3 million to at least 22 universities in the U.S. and abroad. But the University of Arizona was the only U.S. university getting any money from the group from 2011 to 2016, tax records show. …

Eugenics began in the nieteenth century as a legitimate inqury based on scientific findings about genetIcs and inherited attributes. Politicians took it over and perverted it for their own purposes, much like “climate science” today.

A lot of what we write off as bad genetics is bad environment.

There are several studies that found the highest ROI in improving school performance and attendance in the developing world is DEWORMING. When you have bouts of digestive illness, when weakened by anemia and malnutrition from parasites, it is hard to go to school or do well there. Little pills once a month led to far better health and educational outcomes.

We know that malnutrition stunts brain growth. Whether it is overall lack of calories, lack of iodine, insufficient protein, all of this hinders brain growth. While the absolute numbers and percentage of the population that is starving/hungry is declining, it is still an issue. Malnutrition through nutritional deficits are still a serious problem.

When you’re constantly fighting off malaria, you might live, but it certainly takes resources from brain development.

All in all, malnutrition, parasites and illness thus shave 10-30 IQ points off kids in the developing world.

We’re so focused on genetics and eugenics, we’re ignoring the possibility that we could raise IQs in those parts of the world by 1-2 standard deviations through better nutrition and healthcare.

Much of what we attribute to racism is thus explained by poverty and lack of development. The same issues explained why poor rural whites have historically been considered far less intelligent than their suburban and urban counterparts.

Don’t blame race or “poor breeding” for what could actually be treated/cured.

After hearing for many, many years that the only reason Socialism fails is because the wrong Communists are in charge, it is refreshing to see that the only reason Eugenics failed is because the wrong Nazi’s were in charge. The new Nazi’s will do better.

Race and IQ are inextricably linked and anyone who thinks otherwise is in flat-out denial of physical reality.

Hillary Clinton said she was honored to receive the Margaret Sanger Award, named for the eugenist who considered Blacks as society’s “weeds.”

Forbidden Science.

We have our taboos, just like other societies.

One of the taboos promoted by the current left, is that their is no difference whatsoever between races or groups of people.

That is clearly false, or we would not be able to differentiate races or groups of people.

Thomas Sowell wrote a great book on this.

Discrimination and Disparities
