I’ll agree in principle- I personally do not think anyone “in the system” at the fed level is qualified to to be anything.

I’d rather see the local county court judge appointed to the USSC than anyone who is a DC player.

Same for all appointees in the fedgov system.

Need a FBI director? Find a sheriff, need a USDA chief? Find a rural Ag type, need a Health boss? Find a regional Hospital Admin gal.

Stop promoting the swamp.

You strike me as a political novice. Why would the Dems bring up Kavanaugh’s role in Vince Foster case? The answer to that is simple.

They’re playing the typical game of opposing everything from the other side of the aisle.

Doug from Upland and me are good. We’ve been friends for over ten years.

Thanks for asking.

I’ll say this about you Barrack, you’re persistent.

You’re also an insultuous jerk, you say anyone who doesn’t agree with you and your conspiracy theory hasn’t done their homework or talk like liberals on this forum.

You’re entitled to your opinion, other than that you should give it a rest.

Have a nice day and try to get over yourself, just a little.

As a conservative, I cannot in good conscience support Brett Kavanaugh for SCOTUS.

Two things:

1) Never let the perfect be the enemy of the good, and,

2) When the House or Senate calls you and asks your opinion, be sure and tell them.

No, I have little tolerance for people who are intellectually lazy. There are many in this group who are just that. They’ve convinced themselves that Kavanaugh is just awesome and they don’t want to do any vetting or even consider the possibility that he’s the wrong guy for the job.

Just the mere suggestion that he’s got a history that should disqualify him sends people like you into a tizzy, just because facts don’t square with what you’ve already bought into.

That’s the behavior of liberals, not conservatives.

Oh, and please tell me where I insulted anyone.

Again, if that happened and Kavanaugh was a Lead Investigator, he either FAILED spectacularly or covered it up. Neither is good and BOTH should disqualify him for SCOTUS.

Look, let's face it, he's a Bushie. He's also much less likely to be stopped by the Democrats... probably because of that fact alone.

However, a Bushie replacing Justice Kennedy, that's actually a half-meter step to the right.

I like his views on gun ownership, so I'll take what I can get.

Well, *that's* a hell of a start.

Do you deal with your callers this way? Maybe pure confrontation can work on radio, Mark Levin often does this, but it probably won't fly on Free Republic.

Supposedly, Ken Starr had a review of the Vince Foster autopsy and evidence done by several of the country's leading medical examiners. They concluded that Vince Foster did commit suicide and that he was driven to it by Hillary Clinton's extraordinarily abusive behavior toward him for his inability to contain the scandal over her firing of the White House travel office staff and a belief that he had no way out that would not lead to a loss of income and stature and a future of embarrassing questions and comments.

If true, Starr's resolution of the Vince Foster case was objectively sound even though the course of the investigation was distorted by the decision to keep the experts' conclusions about Hillary Clinton's conduct secret. Kavanaugh no doubt was deeply involved in this, but I am hard put to think that it is a reason to keep him off the Supreme Court.

In suicide cases, law enforcement routinely suppresses embarrassing and disturbing details to protect families and associates. That is why suicide notes are rarely made public. Entirely apart from what one thinks of Hillary Clinton, such confidentiality helps to assure cooperation with law enforcement and spare survivors from guilt and recrimination. It also helps to avoid having suicide provide a basis for ill will and even a motive for suicide and murder.

Keep in mind that Vince Foster's family accepted the determination that he committed suicide. In spite of issues over witnesses and evidence, they likely accepted it because it was true.

EVEN IF suicide was rightly ruled (I don’t know how if Foster’s car wasn’t there), you point to Clintons involvement in A.) Driving him to it and B.) Hiding evidence.

In either case, Kavanaugh protected them.

DISQUALIFIED

I just learned of this from this reference.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/sinister-battle-brett-kavanaugh-over-202425923.html

This passage is most troubling to me:

” Few people are aware that the US federal prosecutor handling the death investigation at the outset, Miquel Rodriguez, had resigned earlier from the Starr investigation after a bitter dispute.

His resignation letter – later leaked – said he was prevented from pursuing investigative leads, that FBI witness statements did not reflect what witnesses had said, that the suicide verdict was premature, and that his grand jury probe was shut down just as he was beginning to uncover evidence. An informed source told me his work had been sabotaged by his own FBI agents.

US federal prosecutor Miquel Rodriguez
The nub of the dispute was over compelling evidence of a wound in Foster’s neck, which contradicted the official version that Foster shot himself in the mouth and had essentially been suppressed. The key crime scene photos had vanished and the FBI labs said others were over-exposed and useless.
Mr Rodriguez, by then suspicious, slipped them to the Smithsonian Institution and had them enhanced. One showed a black stippled ring like a gunshot wound in the side of Foster’s neck. This remains secret but I have seen it.
The photo was pivotal. It confirmed what several people who handled the body had originally stated. I interviewed the first rescue worker on the scene and when I asked him about the mouth wound, he grabbed me, and said with frightening intensity: “listen to me buddy, Foster was shot right here,” jabbing his finger into my neck. He said the FBI had pressured him too into changing his story and that official narrative was a pack of lies.
Mr Kavanaugh’s reaction to the findings of his colleague can be found in the stash of released documents from the Starr inquiry. One says in his hand-written notes: “startling discovery”, “blew up portions of photo – trauma to the neck on rt side”, “appears to be bullet hole”.
He was presented with a long analysis by Rodriguez that ripped apart the earlier Fiske report and called for an open homicide investigation. This had huge implications for the Clinton presidency and caused an internal crisis in the Starr office. A decision was made to shut down that part of probe. Miquel Rodriguez said he was “forced out”. It was the end of the only genuine probe of the Foster death – conducted under oath – that had ever occurred.
Mr Kavanaugh faced a choice. He chose to go with the establishment rather than stick up for his colleague. This proved good for his career. He took over the grand jury, by then a legacy showpiece. His treatment of my witness revealed his colours.”

It is appalling how many here are willing to support a deep state operative - who has probably been compromised in more ways than one - who’s on the opposite side of the Foster case...hypocrisy comes to mind.

I call for Trump to name a new nominee, on top of investigating Ford, Feinstein and Ford’s attorneys.

now that Feinstein brought it up, this now is even more big than Kavanaugh’s appointment. If Kavanaugh sabotaged the Foster investigation, then Trump can nominate someone else. If he was a whistle blower to Chris Ruddy, ditto.

Let the chips fall where they may.

This exposes one of the most shocking incidences in DNC history!

Miquel Rodriguez — I remember reading about him in the ‘Strange Death of Vince Foster’.

That is compelling.

If Kavanaugh tampered with that invetigation he should come clean. He could be a whistle blower and his life would not be over. He could get an immunity deal, be an author, you name it.

We get another nominee who isn’t so compromised by the past.
