California burger chain In-N-Out donated $25,000 to the California Republican Party, a public filing on the California Secretary of State's website shows.
"In-N-Out added a new item to their secret menu," Schneider tweeted.
A number of Twitter users immediately called for a boycott of the fast food chain, using the hashtag #boycottinnout.
"No more for me," one user tweeted. "I refuse to spend money at any firm (when I have choices) that donates money to the Republican party or any Republican candidate."
"So @innoutburger just gave $25,000 to the CA Republican Party," tweeted another. "I've successfully boycotted fast food chains before, and I intend to do it again. #boycottinnoutburger."
However, not everyone was willing to get in on the boycott.
"I'm not boycotting In N Out," tweeted one account. "They're based in a Republican part of the state (Orange County). Stands to reason they might support one."
"Yo, In N Out could give the California GOP $30 MILLION in contributions and I'll still keep eating there," another person said. "Republicans will never take back the state, no matter how many Double Doubles they sell."

This sucks. The lines were too long as it is. Now they’ll be ridiculously long due to the “Chick Fil A effect”. These SJWs are systematically ruining my fast food experience!

The boycott will not work. I live in So. California. Whenever I go by an In N’ Out the the drive through lines snake out of the parking lot and into the street. The restaurants are full of customers inside too. In N’ Out serves a great product. They are the best hamburgers anywhere. I will eat more of them. They sell only hamburgers, fries, milkshakes, sodas, and iced tea. That is all, and it is all good. Please eat there.
And all these people that are blowing up Twitter in favor of the boycott, when no one is looking, they’ll be sneaking into the nearest In-N-Out to get some burgers, hoping that no one sees them.
It’ll be like the Chik Fil A they opened in NYC and the MSM couldn’t believe that the line was around the corner. Comments were pretty much ... Yeah, I don’t agree with their politics, but those sandwiches are too good to pass up.
So the only people who are allowed to make political donations with no fall-out are leftists and democrats?
Ok, the rest of us are second class citizens with NO voice.
In-N-Out was just voted “best burger” in liberal Reno. Don’t think this is going to work.
I wish we had ‘em here in Denver.
They tried to take down Chick-Fil-A too but its Hollywood location, just about in the heart of the gay community continues to do quite well.
I thought lefties were mostly vegetarians and or meat contributes to global warming?

If there was one around me, I’d do the same.
I used to like In-N-out but now I don’t know what I ever saw in them. They suck just like all the rest of the burger joints around.
