The German Defense Ministry is reportedly in talks with its US counterpart to hammer out details for the Bundeswehr to join possible airstrikes by US, British and French forces on Syrian targets, Germany's mass-circulation Bild newspaper reported on Monday.

The report suggests Germany's conservative defense minister, Ursula von der Leyen, has responded to a US request, which was followed by a meeting of high-ranking ministry and military officials from both countries.

On any given day....if they can get 10-percent of their fighter force in the air....they are lucky. You’d have to schedule this two weeks in advance, and bring in the top maintenance guys to get some high chance or probability of launching.

Presently, I think if Erdgoan from Turkey wanted to invade Germany...he’s got a 50-50 chance of taking over in ten days.

They have Eurofighter Typhoons and Panavia Tornados.
They’ll will send the Tornados, since those are strike aircraft and have a decent range.

German military is in absolute shambles. I’d be surprised if have the ability to join a meaningful strike.

The purpose is to show the Russians there are 2 of us. Now if the French were to join in they’d be quaking in their boots.

Nothing like Germany joining France and the US, and that sound of Germans protesting this war will sound like the Fourth Screech.

Germany is just waiting for ironclad guarantees that the conflict is in its last week, before ordering actual planning for deployment to begin...

Seriously though, the reality check of pulling a trigger on live people in public would be a big step for Germany.

It would help them grow up a bit, and maybe sober up some of their public opinion over time. Less than 20% of German military age men who are surveyed, say they would be willing to fight for their country - 75% of Finns would.

Let’s help Germany enter emotional adulthood. Put a gun in their hands.

If the fighting age Muslims in Germany rose up and started raising real hell, the German military couldn’t handle them, either.

Why are we attacking Syria?

When did we declare war on Syria?

When can we declare victory in the war and come home?

(the unanswerable questions)

Ha Ha Ha. With what? They hardly have any modern military aircraft that are ready for action.

Why the hell should we do anything in Syria? We have no vital national interest there.

Has anyone here watched the documentary at the bottom of the report? It’s called ‘Syria’s disappeared, the case against Assad’. It is very tragic and I believe every word of the Syrian’s interviewed in it.

In one sense it is comically tragic. The thrust of the story is this UN investigator from Canada who has gotten documents smuggled out of Syria that are the government reports of events surrounding the government crackdown of the demonstrations in 2011. How the government documents show the roundup of ‘dissidents’ and how they have been ‘eliminated’. In it, the investigator talks of how he is developing a case against the Assad regime and would like to see Nuremberg style trials of Assad and his cohorts.

This is the ultimate in virtue signalling. I would ask that UN investigator if he personally and his country (Canada) are willing to make the sacrifices, pick up a rifle and invade Syria? He seems to forget the reason we had Nuremberg trials (which is in Germany if he didn’t know) is because real men from real countries invaded Germany and took it over. How many of these UN countries that are ‘outraged’ are willing to do that?

Again, UN and Euroweenies (throw Hollyweird in there), the ultimate virtue signallers...

I like how they are already planning airstrikes in response to something that hasn’t happened. Bottom line is these are cracker flying top cover for Isis jihadis.
