So what are the statistics on how many people are killed every year by pit bulls compared to all other breeds?
Well then (in the interest of promoting at leart minimal education) let’s point out that dogs bred for fighting and for herding huge lifestock need to be handled at all times by people trained for those endeavors, and it takes a blithering idiot to promote those breeds as pets for the general populace.
There’s no data in that story to support the claim in the OP.
Yep, Heelers are great dogs but horrible pets.
The argument is similar to saying there’s no point in keeping jihadis out of the country because most murders aren’t done by jihadis.

This is really the best method of reducing the number of dogs and cats killed in dog pounds every year. A free or near free spay and neutering would allow the poorest to get their animals fixed. That means communities, cities, states, or the feds must subsidize the vets who do the work.
As for Pit Bulls; you would be better off talking to a rock. The ignorance here is off the charts. One of the best dogs I've ever had is a Staffie in the PB family. She's a mom to the other 3. Great dogs but like any good dog they must be treated with respect. You can't find a dog more willing to please their human which is also why they are so easily abused and made to be mean. I'd like to see the people who do that put in prison for the expected life of the dog. Ten years will do.

The pit bull apologists usually fix their data by excluding a lot of pit bull mix dogs from the pit bull attack number and they assign those dogs to the “other than pit bulls” category. That helps to even out the numbers to make their kill-breed seem less dangerous in the final percentages.

In the 13-year period of 2005 through 2017, canines killed 433 Americans. Pit bulls contributed to 66% (284) of these deaths. Combined, pit bulls and rottweilers contributed to 76% of the total recorded deaths. (DogBite.org)
Anyone that says they are not more dangerous than other dogs is full of crap.

I recall the same hysteria over Dobermans and German Shepard Dogs in the 70s. Pits are very popular in a post 9/11 America. There is just more of the breed these days. Pure hysteria.
This sounds like the logic for denying the death penalty. “The rate of crimes do not go down if we execute criminals”, they say. “The crime rate drops 100 percent for the criminals executed,” is the retort.
Similarly, you can say the rate of dog violence does not go down with pit bull bans, but it should for the dogs that are euthanized.

You don't know sh!t about me. And I'm not going to budge based on facts? Yet I give you facts 66% of FATAL dog attacks are from Pit-bulls. That is a FACT. 187 breeds in the USA and 66% of fatal attacks are Pit-bulls. I love dogs. I have three, all rescued. I was a Dog Handler in the Army for several years. And I still don't trust dogs 100%. Everyone has good and dab days, including dogs. The only problem is that when a Pit-bull has a bad day, it could also be a bad day for some human in the vicinity.
So go ahead wise guy, debate me.

There’s a shocker.
