Umpire Carlos Ramos appeared to receive an apology from one of his severest critics on Thursday – as figures emerged showing that male players are penalised far more often than women for bad behaviour.
The Portuguese official was pictured in Croatia talking with USTA President Katrina Adams, with witnesses claiming they overheard her saying sorry for the fallout over the Serena Williams sexism row in the US Open final.
The conversation — prior to America's Davis Cup semi-final in Zadar — coincides with Sportsmail obtaining data from the last twenty years of Grand Slams displaying the misdemeanours of the two sexes at the sport's four biggest events.

I’ve lost all respect for Serena. She couldn’t scream “racism” in this case so she went with “sexism”. How about some personal accountability?

The referee in william’s case is not required to examine the entire history of tennis players being penalized and to draw up a table of occurrences of penalties according to sex, race, and seriousness, and then see how william’s outburst fits into that.
The referee must judge the situation as it occurs, on its own merits.
The referee does not need to think “oh gee, 49 males penalized for screaming, I can’t penalize this woman.”
The referee should not have discussed the issue with her. Allowing her to speak and rant was wrong and unduly annoyed the spectators. “My decision is final.”
Fat chance! williams is a highly-paid, arrogant, specially-privileged member of two government-certified victim groups, and can claim privilege from either one at any time. She does not have to work and play fairly, like white males.

Serena is a world class bully and a brat. She did not do this once. She does it all the time. She threatens, She intimidates then she plays the sexism or racism card. Nobody should look up to this lady.

It’s not surprising that men are penalized more often than women... women are generally better behaved. The obvious modern SJW conclusion: we may need a penalty quota for women.
Sure do remember that spoiled toddler McEnroe. Back then, no one played the race card nor the genderness card. In fact, no one stayed in the sport long who lacked basic civility. The problem in my mind was women from Soviet bloc countries pumped with testosterone and getting away with it. Not mentioning anyone in particular.
McEnroe, Nastasse, all of them received many many penalties, loss of points and defaults through the years. In fact, Nastasse was just recently banned from Davis Cup because of his sexist remarks. Be assured of a male player called a chair a liar and thief, they would have received the same treatment. Maria Sharapova, Richard Gasquet and many others have been banned for for PEDs, (as we will soon find out only after her retirement, that Serena uses). In the meantime she is being protected by Nike and mostly Katrina Adams, the first black (and lesbian) President of the USTA whose stated goal was to bring diversity to tennis, which she has done to the detriment and discrimination of white players. Katrina needs to be forced to resign for her outrageous statements at the US open, in protection of Williams, her diversity Queen of Queens.
Nothing will happen to her.
Up until this incident I had great admiration for her and her sister.

Great video, but the title is inaccurate. She wasn’t disqualified from that match. She was penalized a point or a game for her tantrum, and it was at the very end of the match so it just happened to be the losing point/game.

USTA President Katrina Adams gave a private apology, but it isn't appropriate -- she needs to make public apology for her own racism, then resign.
At least Serena Williams didn’t blame her lost on Russians.

Serena Williams needs to send an open letter to Osaka, apologizing for her theatrics and making Osaka’s win about her.
