It is beginning to be obvious that Ford has asked for immunity from prosecution (for perjury) as it is becoming apparent that she is lying. SEVERAL supposed witnesses have no recollection of the party. She has to have asked for immunity from prosecution for what she is trying to do.
If she did, and no one said, “screw this, we’re voting now”, no one will be surprised.
Even if she has not asked for immunity she would not be prosecuted. That’s just a political reality.

I think this will come up rather quickly on x-day, when she refuses to swear on her testimony, and she explains that she’s trying ‘hard’ to remember everything. At that point, they should just suggest that if you can’t swear on the truth....why’d you drag us here?
I have always felt Kavenaugh should sue her into oblivion,but he decent seem to be that type of guy. IMO she certainly deserves to be ruined

She is mentally ill. I have no doubt that she WAS abused as a child Not by kavanaugh and not at 15. Probably by someone she loves at a much younger age.
The thing to remember here is that she's not a party in a legal matter -- she's a witness.
I have been a witness in several legal matters -- both personally and in a professional capacity. If I felt a need to hire a former Federal prosecutor as my attorney, I'd have to be in some serious legal jeopardy myself.
Ford doesn't need to negotiate immunity from perjury as a condition for testifying (as one rumor had suggested last week). That's absurd on its face ("I'll testify, but you can't prosecute me if I lie."). In fact, she wouldn't need to negotiate immunity for anything she says as a witness in a Senate hearing as a condition of testifying. She'd have to be negotiating an immunity deal for something she's already done.
If there are any immunity discussions taking place, I'd say they are deals for immunity in exchange for her to recant her story and go away.
I am pretty sure immunity doesn’t protect you from perjury.
You do NOT want to give her immunity.

I say: It is PAST time to hold the Kavanaugh vote, and discard DemocRAT distractions. She missed deadline after deadline. And look at her supporters! Cory Spartacus said he was a groper, didn’t he? We know Blumenthal lied about his “war” record and Feinstein kept a ChiCom spy on staff for 20 years and then covered it up with the help of Comey’s FBI. Kamala and Hironi are certifiably insane.
I would publicly state at that hearing that her fraudulent actions are a dark stain on American politics comparable to what the Left alledges ‘McCarthyism’ and witchhunts were and it is the hypocritical Democrat Party leadership that has taken us here.
Her bigger legal exposure here is for defamation claims from the others she has named in her letter -- especially the "other boy in the room" who she identified as an accomplice to Kavanaugh in the alleged attack.
The Left don’t care about perjury when used for their purposes.
Most of the American people are unable to discern and very little ability to think critically. Thus, they see nothing wrong with this politically driven woman and the Dems doing what they can to destroy a good, decent man.
I agree with most of what you posted there, except I don’t believe the Democrats really thought Kavanaugh would bail. In fact, I’m getting a sense that the Democrats knew all along that Ford’s tale was utter B.S. — and were boxed into a corner when they knew the Washington Post would break the story in September and their base would be enraged to find that Feinstein had sat on Ford’s letter since July.
