Look Familiar? Watch Judge Clarence Thomas Have To Defend Himself
WOR (Mark Simone) ^ | 09/20/2018 | staff

Posted on 09/23/2018 5:06:53 PM PDT by Kid Shelleen

“Senator, I would like to start by saying unequivocally, uncategorically, that I deny each and every single allegation against me today that suggested in any way that I had conversations of a sexual nature or about pornographic material with Anita Hill, that I ever attempted to date her, that I ever had any personal sexual interest in her, or that I in any way ever harassed her.

“A second, and I think more important point. I think that this today is a travesty. I think that it is disgusting. I think that this hearing should never occur in America. This is a case in which this sleaze, this dirt, was searched for by staffers of members of this committee, was then leaked to the media, and this committee and this body validated it and displayed it at prime time over our entire nation. How would any member on this committee, any person in this room, or any person in this country, would like sleaze said about him or her in this fashion? Or this dirt dredged up and this gossip and these lies displayed in this manner? How would any person like it?

“The Supreme Court is not worth it. No job is worth it. I am not here for that. I am here for my name, my family, my life, and my integrity. I think something is dreadfully wrong with this country when any person, any person in this free country would be subjected to this.

“This is not a closed room. There was an FBI investigation. This is not an opportunity to talk about difficult matters privately or in a closed environment. This is a circus. It’s a national disgrace.

“And from my standpoint as a black American, as far as I’m concerned, it is a high-tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves, to do for themselves, to have different ideas, and it is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order, this is what will happen to you. You will be lynched, destroyed, caricatured by a committee of the U.S. Senate, rather than hung from a tree.”

The video of Clarence Thomas testingiy before Biden is well worth watching again. This is how an honest man handles business. I found the transcipt in a very good FrontPageMag article.
THE ACCUSER OF THE BROTHER
https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/265757/accuser-brother-lloyd-billingsley

Most people only remember that Thomas called it a high tech lynching but in my opinion ever line is powerful.
Here are my key takeaways:

* Biden looks like he crapped his pants. The look on his face shows he knows Thomas is right.

* Thomas points out the dirt was purposely leaked by staffers to the media to smear him knowing it would be aired in prime time. Sound familiar?

* Thomas makes it clear he is fighting for his family and integrity.

* He foreshadows the treatment by the swamp,MSM and the any means necessary Leftists to anyone who is a threat to established powers.

Judge Kavanaugh should learn from the master.

Note that Thomas only got 52 votes to confirm.

What’s going on now against the confirmation of Judge Kavanaugh will be far worse, when it’s all said and done.

That’s what the delays were for, and Republicans on that Committee (and a few other Republicans in the Senate) knew it all along and for decades before now. I told you all about these things days ago.

There are around 40 million people getting their incomes from government.

I remember seeing that when it happened. I was very proud of him. He conducted himself like a Man throughout that whole mess.

We don’t seem to have many real men in Congress anymore. There aren’t many real women, either.

Expect this vote to be similar. But *any* Republican who votes against can expect to lose her next primary or not have a chance at a private sector job in a GOP-run firm, ever. Not that they necessarily care, because feelings.

Thomas was also confirmed by a Senate with a Democrat majority.

That wouldn't happen today, but Clarence Thomas became a lion during that disgraceful charade -- and he's still going strong almost 30 years later.

Clarence Thomas is my favorite Justice, a close second while Scalia was alive. I'd even go so far as to call him a national treasure.

Arlen Specter's and Orin Hatch's finest hour was getting him through the committee vote.

By the time Thomas had been on the Supreme Court for ten years he was probably even MORE conservative than Scalia.

Scalia was an "originalist" when it comes to constitutional law. Thomas is a "textualist." There's a subtle difference, but it speaks volumes of how they approached the law differently.

The spectacle we’re witnessing today must be tearing that poor old guy up, may he keep up the good fight forever. No one deserves to be treated like this. No one. Only a lib would disagree with that, unless the person being mistreated himself were a lib.

I’m hoping for judge Kavanuagh to make a similar speech to the Senate Committee.

[Thomas was also confirmed by a Senate with a Democrat majority.]

That was because many of those southern Democratic senators were actually more conservative than a lot of northeastern Republican senators. And those states are now represented by GOP senators. The Democratic party held a majority because it was the big tent party that included a lot of right-wingers. Its conversion to the far left party means that it has consolidated its grip on liberal northeastern and western states, but equally lost ground in conservative southern states.

Those hearings became the moment when I realized just how evil the democrats are.

Next up, the demagogues of the Demagogic Party and their partisan media shills will try to paint Kavanaugh as homophobic, and when that fails, as racist. He'll survive it, and they'll have created an unbreakable caucus on the Court, one that will grow.

10-4 on that “unbreakable caucus.” Caught your subtle drift and have been trying to avoid saying it, myself. ;-)

They should speak freely. She needs to be heard! ;-D

At the current rate, and assuming reelection, our President will have appointed eight to the SCOTUS by the time he leaves office. Good luck with that, Demonrats!.
