The autumn equinox is upon us. On Saturday (Sept. 22), the sun will shine directly on the Earth's equator, autumn will officially begin in the northern hemisphere, and the length of day and night will be nearly equal across the globe ... or, "across the disc," if you're a flat-Earther.
For flat-Earthers — the vocal online community of folks who believe the world is actually flat and science is a conspiracy — the equinox can be tricky to explain. Without axial tilt, the phenomenon in which the rotating, spherical Earth angles its poles toward or away from the sun, how can the changing seasons be reliably explained? How can sunrises and sunsets occur if the sun is constantly shining on the entire, flat surface of the planet? Flat-Earth thinkers have come up with many answers to these niggling questions over the last century or so, and we've scoured the literature to share the explanations with you. The sun is really, really small
In the most popular flat-Earth maps, the North Pole sits roughly at the center of the planetary disc, while Antarctica forms a giant ice wall along the planet's circumference. The equator forms a ring hallway between the two.

Oh they are very creative. Other planets are either faked by NASA, or are also small and close like the sun, circulating above the ‘dome’ somehow.

Because flat Earthing is ok if you are a victim of a scientist who knows it is curved. In the liberal world, being a victim make all other contradictory arguments invalid, reality and God can go f themselves, I am a victim
What makes you think the Flat-Earthers are dumb?
It’s been a running joke for decades. They specialize in clever humorous explanations that almost make a sort of sense, kindof like grandpa stories of where babies come from.
On the internet, they’d be called trolls, albeit good-natured ones.
I met a Flat Earther last week. She’s a kook.
Shortly before I retired, I was helping a customer at work and it somehow came up in conversation that he was a Flat Earther.
All I could do was think, "Must resist urge to disprove pseudoscience. Not proper time and place."
It was a struggle, but I persevered.

This woman said the space program is fake. I asked her some pointed questions and she was basically ignorant. She didn’t even know about Hitler’s V-rockets or the Saturn-5 rocket.
I once heard Alden Nowlan, one of the founders of the Flat Earth Society of Canada, on CBC radio. He was brilliant and hilarious.
Not all flat-earthers seriously believe that the earth is flat. I suspect that most flat-earth societies are really drinking clubs.
