During a lunch break in the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with Christine Blasey Ford, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, approached Michael Bromwich, one of the attorneys representing Ford, and handed him an envelope which he placed in his right lapel pocket.

I do not believe that the envelope was a payoff. It makes absolutely no sense to pass money there at that time. Why? Money could be passed at another time in a private setting. Something came up that Lee felt was so important to protecting Ford that the information could not wait. That is what makes sense.
