I am persuaded of better things. Anyway, I prefer to stay positive. Otherwise, it’s just nauseating; and I dislike nausea intensely.

What do you think:

"Flake, Collins and Murkowski won't vote for cloture"

You did not end this with a question mark, it is a declarative sentence. Any reasonable person reading this would think Flake, Collins and Murkowski announced they're not going to ever vote for cloture for Kavanaugh.

I am not making anything up. This is basic legislative operation.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debate_(parliamentary_procedure)

On Friday, the US Senate by unanimous consent proceeded to debate the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh. They cannot move to vote on the nomination until they end the debate on the nomination, which requires a majority (because they changed the rules) or by unanimous consent (which all the democrats won’t allow, at least one will object).

That was not intended to be misleading. I was anticipating what their next play will be.

That link doesn’t say anything about a majority vote to end debate. You’re just a liar.

Posting links that don’t support what you claim is a troll trick.

Yes. That link says:
The new version of the cloture rule requiring three-fifths (60%) rather than two-thirds (66.7%) approval, which has remained in place since 1975, makes it considerably easier for the Senate majority to invoke cloture. Even so, a successful cloture motion on legislation is uncommon.

Nothing there about 51 votes for cloture. Posting links that don't support your claim is a classic troll trick. This is now the second time you've done that. You're a troll.

Ok, then how many votes does it take to end debate then?

And how do you proceed to a final vote without ending a debate?

I now see from your third link there is a simple majority vote taken to end debate.

The MSM does fake news all day long and it’s cited here. What difference does it make?

Fake = Fake

It’s all designed to formulate opinions and tell you how and what to think.

Didn’t Harry Reid reduce that to simple majority for appointments, leaving it at 60 for regular legislation?

If Palin would announce that if Murkowski votes no she will begin a vigorous write-in campaign against her. She would probably even win but even if she didn’t she would ensure Murkowski’s loss. McConnell should also promise Collins the moon for a yes vote and when he does not keep his promises to her afterwards it will be just a shame.

Murkowski doesn’t come up again until 2022, I believe, and AK people like these kind of “mavericks”.

You did not mention a source for your claim. And Flake already wrote that he’ll vote to confirm Kavanaugh.
