Acres and Acres of Broken Glass
LonePalm ^ | 10/12/2018 | LonePalm

I joined FR on 8 October 2000. On the 14th I made my first contribution and coined the phrase, "Broken Glass Republican" at the same time. (See the link above)(A thank you to the Wayback Machine for archiving the post. JimRob says the FR database has been corrupted.) The term was picked up by Byron York who got it from his sister, a FReeper, over dinner and published in National Review. Peggy Noonan then used it in her article The Meaning of the Vote Democracy is a blessing--especially for "Broken Glass Republicans". It was also used repeatedly by Rush on the air. Attaching "Broken Glass" to some group name has become a reference to the intensity of that group's dedication.

This has become part of my primary signature block along with my family's motto, "Garde la Foi (Keep the Faith)." That is exactly what we need to do in the upcoming midterm elections.

President Trump has exceeded our already high expectations. And yet there is too much left to do. It takes time to undo decades of political and societal decay. This can ALL come to a screeching halt should the Democrats take control of the House and/or Senate next term.

Democrats (liberals) promise a society more beautiful than the stained glass of the grandest cathedral on Earth. What they deliver is anything but beautiful. No matter where you look you see the sharp shards of liberal broken glass waiting to slice at the souls and psyches of you, your neighbors, your children, and grandchildren.

If you live in a battleground state or district, get involved and get friends out to vote. If you live in a safe district you can still work on other local races or volunteer to make GOTV phone calls to help Republican candidates elsewhere.

Garde la Foi, mes amis!

Once again I am willing to crawl over broken glass to vote on November 6th.

On a daily basis I give thanks to JimRob, and the minion mods for giving us this platform.

Jim, you are a pearl of great price.

I am the Chairman of our Township Central Committee here in lovely Geneva Illinois.

We had our Kane County Rally on September 16th before the Kavanaugh hearings really heated up. The turnout was the usual lackluster mostly candidates crowd.

Our Townships Oktoberfest was scheduled for October 5th and we had absolutely unprecedented attendance.

The wind has changed direction.

THIS TIME IT REALLY IS DIFFERENT!

Thank you for everything you post.

God Bless you LonePalm

I'll break the glass, a bottle of 12 year old scotch, that I'll finish after I vote straight RRRR.

If you get too bloody, I'll drive you to the polls {in your car}.

My precinct is over a mile away. I’ll be ripped like pulled pork if I have to crawl that far.

Can someone.... O never mind, I’ll drive.
