Like in the western movies, when the lynch mob shows up at the jail, just take out a couple of the leaders, and all the rest will disperse.

Heck we even stood by while Eric Holder was appointed to the DOJ after he was instrumental in whitewashing the barbecue of 80+ women and children in Waco.
