Yes! You’re right! I still remember audiences warning Bruce Willis against Alan Rickman in Die Hard! They were patently afraid of the great, late Mr. Rickman, lol!

To be frank, these naive audiences always charmed me. They are very much a throw-back to the 19th century theater audiences I’ve read about.

Always enjoy a movie any way you want. We can’t let uptight people get in the way of our popular enjoyment.

Did you like the movie?

I thought it was fantastic -- great plot, writing and gory scenes!

I'm of an age that recalls mid 1950's Saturday elemtary school kid's matinees with cartoons, cowboy, and horror flicks. Raucus? You bet, mostly boys, jumping up from their seats shouting warnings to the screen hero. Empty popcorn boxes sometimes flew towards the screen villians accompanied by boos.

The adults watched the streams of young boys coming from all directions to the movie palace, secure in the knowledge that four blissful hours of peace were at hand.

“When I was a kid, it seemed people were much more rambunctious watching movies.”

Back in college they played Rocky Horror every Fri and Sat at midnight at the theatre on bar row. The theatre was always full of drunks. Many even had the book telling the audience how to react and what to chant when. We took our newspapers, super soakers, boxes of rice and it was a blast.

I do not envy the weekend cleanup crew.

Oh no, I won’t go see a movie with a crowd anymore. Especially in the north east.

My friends and I used to go to Massachusetts to the headquarters to watch because their ushers were no nonsense.

I can’t take the black audiences. I actually walked out on Book of Eli (Glad I returned) and got my money back for their behavior.

I think the Shatner mask was heated and deformed. If so, then it must have been a pain for them to recreate if needed if they did it free hand.

My old friend from long ago, Sal Piro, started the Rocky Horror Show stuff. I loathed that from the beginning.

I’m simply referring to jokes audiences made during bad movies - not orchestrated stuff like that.

Hi, Cov. There’s a wonderful British movie, written by the American William Rose, called The Smallest Show on Earth which hilariously spoofs those audiences.

Back in the 70-80s, I remember young boys taking over the Thalia on the Upper West Side during screenings of Ed Wood movies. They were absolutely sidesplitting in their remarks.

I used to love watching the old MST (Mystery Science Theater) shows and listening to the characters snarky comments during the movie. Usually not a fan of talkers during a movie, but for MST that was the concept behind it.

Poor Jamie is typecast just like her mom. Janet (IIRC) was the gal in the Pyscho shower scene and she was the first to show a bra in the same movie.

HALLOWEEN40 grossed $77 million this first weekend. The second-highest horror film gross in history, after VENOM, which grossed $80 million in its first weekend.
