For the second consecutive season, Ohio State went on the road against an unranked Big Ten opponent and laid a dinosaur egg. Last year, it was a befuddling 55-24 loss at Iowa, which ultimately cost the Buckeyes a spot in the College Football Playoff. This year, Ohio State went to Purdue and imploded in a spree of red-zone ineptitude, critical penalties and a defense that offered little more than token resistance. It wasn’t just that Purdue upset the No. 2 Buckeyes, 49-20, it was the tenor in which they did it. They pushed around Ohio State up front, out-schemed them on both sides of the ball and showed a much higher level of consistent effort.

OSU looked inept. Purdue had their number and other teams will emulate Purdue’s game plan.
Your analysis of OSU is spot on. I’ll add that Haskins has no mobility, if the pocket begins to collapse he’s cooked. Highly overrated team. I say just give the trophy to Alabama as they are in a league of their own. The Buckeyes are fortunate in a sense that they didn’t run a weak Big 10 only to be mauled by Alabama in January.
Wisconsin Badgers play Perdue November 17th. You can BET this game film will be gone over again and again and again between now and then by Coach, Players AND Fans!

Uh-oh Ohio state fans. Urb is going to get heart palpitations and a constricted esophagus and bail due to “health concerns.” Then he will retire to spend more time with his family and fellow staff at ESPN.
OSU looked and and played hapless and uninspired. Purdue played with a full head of steam. They didn’t earn the nick name Spoilermakers for nothing.

Urban Meyer is one helluva good recruiter and when he’s on his game, his teams are mentally and physically tough. But....as a Gator I can tell y’all he is also mentally/psychologically fragile and is prone to cracking suddenly or burning out. It happened at UF and its been happening at Ohio State with blowout losses to unranked Iowa last year and unranked Purdue this year. I expect him to suddenly retire again soon. 7 years is the longest he has been at one school in his whole career.

Watching my Clemson Tigers often takes years off my life. Yesterday was a nice change of pace from that.

Ohio State... it’s one thing to be upset by a last second score by a conference member that just plays way above its level while you have an off day and never get in synch. But to lose by 29 to an unranked unheralded Purdue?! To say OSU wasn’t ready to play is the understatement of the season. Congratulations to the Boilermakers!
