A study conducted by Cornell University and University of Washington professors and researchers concludes that filters used in dating apps reinforce societally influenced biases and division.
Cornell professors Solon Barocas and Karen Levy, Cornell research initiative coordinator Jessie Taft, and UW law scholar Jevan Hutson established theories surrounding "queer and social justice" as it pertains to human-computer interaction (HCI). They did so in order to analyze the ways in which race, gender, and disability filters on dating apps, or "intimate platforms," reinforce stereotypes, biases, and social divisions.

How dare you heterosexual males not date transsexuals!
I suspect the authors are butt ugly and unsuccessful in their efforts to find hot singles waiting for you 1 mike away.
Its the intellectual adjunct to the inceb Reddit subgroup.
Gee, when I was a student they were still called a priori conclusions and confirmation bias.
There’s a joke about a union official who goes to a union run whore house. The upshot is, for the same money, he gets the senior-most whore instead of the one he wants. So, if I want a tall, thin blond woman I will be matched with a short, fat black woman? That may represent the required “equal outcome” but will it make either party happy?
Researchers aka scientists don’t make ‘recommendations.’
It’s obesit, and acne.
People must be forced by universities to date fat students with zits.
Because hate or patriarchy or something.
Don’t you know, we’re all now “bigots” because we won’t date a tranny. Yes, they’re saying this now.
this isn’t about researchers getting a date.
This is about pissing in the dating pool to keep men from finding a female partner.
- any homo isn’t going to get a date from me
- any woman with “social(ist) justice” in her profile isn’t going to get a date from me (far side of the crazy scale)
So if hot chicks don’t want to date me, it’s the app’s fault? Makes sense.
women are still permitted to fat shame men (women are BBW now and do not tolerate negative comment about their “fluffy” weight) and glasses wearing geeks who don’t earn enough can also be rejected without response.
/src on/But your definition of “hot” is formed by society. You need the app to point you to women who do not fit society’s definition of “hot”. Yes the 300 lb obese bald 50 year old pox faced women is just as “hot” as the fit high cheek boned 30 year old./src off/
What about the right to choose? Or is it only when you kill a baby that right exist?
Sooo.... if I don’t want to date a dude, and the app screens out potential dudes.... that’s bad?
No. I’m going to have to stick with not dating a dude.
As I’m sure you’ve noticed, so much of PC culture is an attempt to shoehorn the undesirable, unattractive, boring, awkward and neurotic into what is considered normal.
It’s born of anger, insecurity, a desire for revenge, a desire for a shortcut, etc. In the end, it’s lazy.
When people exercise free choices but what they choose is not coincident with the politically correct narrative, it won’t be long before the Democrats seek to eliminate those freedoms.
This dating app story seems trivial. However within a decade good luck buying a vehicle with an internal combustion engine. The climate narrative claims that such vehicles are harmful and that if you must own a personal vehicle, it must be an electric vehicle powered by “renewable, sustainable green electricity”. This of course is nonsense and violates the laws of physics. However it won’t stop the Democrats from trying to restrict freedom and force people to conform to their bizarre narrative.
Youre a racist if you wont sleep with me.

The filter apps do what the user tells them to. These researchers, therefore, are promulgating the idea that people should not be able to form relationships (of whatever sort) by their own choosing.
The hell with the researchers.
