Russian president Vladimir Putin used his annual foreign policy address to herald the end of U.S. dominance and tout Moscow's growing military might and diplomatic reach.
In a wide-ranging exposition at the annual Valdai forum, Mr Putin continually returned to the idea that US hegemony was the cause of many global ills but that its twilight offered opportunities for Russia and its friends.
"Empires often think they can make some little mistakes because they're so powerful...But when the number of these mistakes keeps growing, it reaches a level they cannot sustain."
"A country can get the sense from impunity that you can do anything...This is the result of the monopoly from a unipolar world...Luckily this monopoly is disappearing. It's almost done."

Dream on Mr. Pukin.
I don’t think Vlad interpreter is giving him the correct English definition of the word “Dominance”
The last two years have given the world a pretty clear set of lessons in what US Dominance looks like
Geez, they hated us because we were 'too isolationist', then they hate us because we aren't isolationist.

Sad to say that Putin is largely correct.
From Reagan to Trump, all presidents in between, largely screwed-up America. Trump’s stopped the slide into the abyss. I hope he can bring us back in his 2nd term.
Hey Putin, you mean like what happened to the Soviet Union.
Putin is worried there’ll be a new arms race and he can’t afford it ,LOL
proof that leftists are crazy world-wide
Putin puffers here are so proud of their leader.
If it were a US state, Russia would rank fourth in terms of economy. Its adorable that they still think of themselves as a superpower.
He might change his mind on Nov. 7.
Pootie Poot is just smarting a bit because Merkel is backing away from his exclusive sale of national gas to Germany

The day after losing the gas pipeline to Germany, essentially to LNG tankers from surging US production.
And oil and gas are basically sidelines for the USA - it is almost all Russia has got. Although their grain production has grown significant, and they still have a good arms industry, they are basically a one-crop economy centered on oil and gas.
Oh yeah, we just dropped the INF Treaty with them too.
So Putin comes out and calls us losers, to make folks at home feel better for a few minutes.
Mistakes like ... the Ukranian famine? The gulags? Afghanistan? Allying with Hitler? You mean those kinds of mistakes?
Oh, I guess those aren't "little."
There are still too many Russian lovers on FR.
It certainly was a dream of Barack Obama’s. He was carrying that post America book around with him and got photographed
Obama felt the US standard of living was too high. He said we could not set our thermostats at just whatever we want and couldn’t drive our SUVs just wherever we want to go and eat whatever we want to eat. He wanted to knock the US down several pegs.
