Watching ‘Gosnell’ Shattered My Agnosticism On Abortion
Federalist ^ | October 31, 2018 | Adam Mill

If you haven’t seen the movie “Gosnell,” it is required viewing for Americans like me who avoided the abortion issue because I lacked the moral courage to really think about it and form my own opinion. The movie works very hard to avoid smothering an important philosophical question with scenes of gore. In fact, it depicts real and nuanced questions that go well beyond our abortion debate that seems stuck in impasse.

“Gosnell” is not about an abortion doctor committing “murder” by aborting fetuses––the movie is about a doctor killing delivered babies who breathe, move, and sometimes even cry before abortionist Kermit Gosnell used a pair of scissors to “snip” their spinal cord. Be outraged and shocked by that. But hold your outrage long enough to confront how Gosnell defends his actions, because that’s the real crux of the issue. The Horrifying Truth of the Gosnell Case

Gosnell had assistants prepare his patients by inducing labor. Sometimes he would arrive too late to complete the abortion before the fetus became a living, breathing, crying baby. The government charged him with murder because he nevertheless “completed” his procedures on such babies.

Gosnell’s defense at trial was to point to the arbitrary legal line between what he did and what the law sanctioned. His attorney argued that even if he had followed proper procedures in a sterile clinic using the most advanced medical equipment to terminate pregnancies, the fundamental moral character of what he was doing wouldn’t change.

The problem is that the defense was correct. If we as a people ignore the crime of infanticide then we too are responsible for it. If we as individuals ignore what is happening then we are part of the problem.

If you aren’t doing something to oppose it you support it.

IT is evil.

Only one thing worse than what this baby butcher has done.

The daily world tally of babies being murdered and no action to reduce this number.

Globally, there are 113,000 abortions a day.

This is the size of the L.A. Coliseum filled to capacity spilling into the field of murdered babies, DAILY.

3 million babies a month

36 million a year

Around 1.5 billion babies slaughtered since the early 70s.

Globally humans have murdered the most innocent and do not think twice about it.

Supporting abortion, but claiming ignorance of what is involved is not an excuse. The blood of these babies is on the hands of everyone who supports and votes for this to continue.

"The blood of these babies is on the hands of everyone who supports and votes for this to continue."

IMHO this includes any person that votes for any Democrat for any office in the land. Period.

I was pro-abort myself at one time, though not an "activist" or anything like that.

It was the first time I saw ultrasounds that flipped me on the issue. Also what flipped the nurse of my acquaintance who showed them to me.

The"Democrat Party" is the Demonic Party; it is the Party of Death. To vote for any of its candidates is to vote for murder of the unborn, recently born, elderly, and infirm. It is to vote for sodomy, for mutilation, and perversion. It is to vote for the destruction of the family, of America, and of Christianity.

I am not being "hyperpartisan" is saying this; the Demonic Party is "hyperpartisan" in dedicating itself so thoroughly to evil.

Absolutely. THE BIGGEST PLANK in the Democrat platform is abortion on demand.

I so agree with you. It is SO evil. Tears of sorrow and outrage.

In my sorrow and prayers, I asked God “How can you let this happen? “

I believe His answer is that He knows those babies by name. I have faith that He considers the babies and grants life in heaven.
