I do too in the sense that he has alienated what is obviously a wonderful daughter who just happens to prefer life with another woman. If you love your children, you accept them for what they are...
Quick story: My nephew's best friend since his teenage years (now over 30 years) has always been a part of their family at many holiday and birthday gatherings and all those years I've always suspected him of being gay with no evidence to substantiate it.
Last year Mike (the friend) had a horrible traffic accident which resulted in the amputation of his foot above the ankle. His roommate (which I had found out was living with Mike for about 6 years) was at the hospital every day and it wasn't till last Christmas that Mike came to the house with his friend to join us. With no fanfare, no assumptions, it was evident to me that Mike was gay and the friend was his partner.
When I discussed this with my sister and niece, they finally admitted they knew this too. It made no difference to them, it made no difference to me, and Mike is still a part of the family........
