VANITY- My night at the Rodef Shalom

Posted on 11/02/2018 6:49:32 PM PDT by pburgh01

Unforgettably uplifting service. Kind words of hope and solidarity. Beautiful music in a beautiful temple. I sobbed and felt the grief of 50+ centuries of persecution, murder and hate.

My significant other and I sat near the door and watched the hundreds of faces coming through — some wearing yarmulke and some in hijab — and all there to share their love, support and grief. No two faces were the same yet, tonight, we were all one.

Receiving standing ovations were Mrs. Fred Rogers and Wasi Mohamed, executive director of Pittsburgh’s Islamic Center. This young man’s heartfelt message on the power of a united community raised spirits. It’s not just tonight or tomorrow or the coming weeks, he said of our solidarity, this is how we can move forward as a nation. Political affiliations were left at the door.

Rachael weeps for her children.

I went to Shul tonight in Overland Park, Kansas at B’nai Jehudah. I was sitting next to a very nice Christian lady who I had met early the week at the JCC gym. She was there supporting the Jewish community. Very friendly lady who said it was important to stand up for her Jewish neighbors.

It’s built into the bible vision of Christianity. Even Jews who don’t believe yet are desired by God to be shown the same love that they received from the Christ who revealed Himself to them.

It’s interesting that Muslims would attend and show sympathy here in the USA.

But would not consider doing this in Europe.

Because they don’t have the numbers here to bully the kafirs like they do in Europe.

Call me cynical, but after 270 million deaths from Jihad over 1,400 years, I harbor no illusions. I am not naive or easily fooled. I have done my homework.

Any lie to the kafirs is permitted, as long as it promotes Islam.

These actions serve to promote the image of Islam to the kafirs. Then when the kafirs are in the minority they must convert to Islam, pay the jizya, or be slain, depending on the circumstance.

My shual in the DC area had an open-invitation Shabbos ceremony last night. People were there from about 10-15 different states as well as leaders from our nearby, friendly Churches.

It was a good sign that there are good people out there.

The big problem is how to stop the wackos who will attack shuals, churches, mosques, etc.

Every religious institution MUST review not only its physical security arrangements or lack thereof, but also whether is can “authorize” concealed and open carry in them (there are restrictions in Virginia about CCW in a religious institution that has a school inside/attached to it).

The Jewish liberal/left idiots (including members of my own synagogue, are trying to get people to buy anti-gun license plates and make it a gun-freeze zone (aka a “Killing Field”) that they won’t be responsible for.

The gloves are off in my shual. Time to expose the fools for being a bigger threat to our safety than the wackos because we can prepare for attackers IF we have the will to do so. The left wants us to have no such “will”, to leave use vulnerable to attackers, and then to blame President Trump for whatever happens, just like they did in Pittsburgh.

All sane Jews must unite against our insane liberal brethren before we suffer a domestic “Maallot” massacre (Palestinian terrorist massacred over a dozen elementary school children in an attack against an unprotected building, much like that Sandy Hook killer did, and the Palestinians still praise that action as a brave act of resistance.

So too will the next nut unless we get them first. .356MM already at hand. Permit coming very soon. I will protect our children, shual and Torah.

It sounds like a wonderful service, and I join you all in prayers for consolation for the bereaved.

There seems to be an example in the Yom Kippur War that Israel won a victory in decades ago. Any religious obligation may and ought to be abrogated for the sake of defending a life.

That said, if it’s made known that there are guards (even if not obvious who they are) the cowards will back off almost to the last one and there will never be a shootout.

Going last night was very edifying to my Christian faith and Conservative principles. Someone at the service even quoted the Founding Fathers about the "Right to life, liberty..." They expounded that liberty meant the inalienable right to practice your faith without the fear of hate and violence. Everyone there I think at least for one night agreed how blessed we are that we live in such a great country that people still value that. And as a former practicing Jew, it also made my heart full that unlike 1938 in Germany, people stood up and said killing Jews because they were Jewish was not right and we stand here and grief with you. History had not been all that kind to my tribe.

As far as the motivations of the Muslims at the service, I am not one to judge their sincerity. The Muslims I know just want to live their life unmolested and practice their faith and be judged on what they do, not what the terrible things their wackadoos perpetrate.

There is a lot of, er, diversity under the general rubric of Islam — not all are fundamentalist about it; some are socially Islamic only. Where the Holy Spirit has them and where He has planned to lead them, is a matter God keeps to Himself, to be revealed in the fullness of time. As in your case, Christ wins people on His merits without regard to what rites they had practiced before.

But it would be wrong to fail to point out that the closer to Mohammed they get, the more wackadoo (as you put it) they are.
