Wide-ranging Chinese state rules on what video games can depict are believed to be behind the need to modify Rainbow Six.
The revamp would mean Rainbow Six had a "single, global version" so it would be easier to maintain and introduce new features, said Ubisoft.
It illustrated its blogpost with images showing what some scenes and icons would look like in the new version. The illustrations depict skulls and knives being swapped for more anodyne images and some elements, such as slot machines, being removed entirely.
The modified images and maps will be introduced with the Year 3, Season 4 release of the game due in late 2018.

Ping.
All bow to your Butcher-of-Beijing overlords.
I'd appreciate it.
I'm curious but not interested enough to invest the time to make sense of it.
Ubisoft is really big on the SJW bandwagon and incorporating this into the games they are selling your kids so this is par for the course for them. Here is a video of some leaks if you are interested in the more dirty details.

China says you can’t put certain things in video games. Company doesn’t want to make different versions globally so they bow down to their commie overlords and do what the China govt says and to hell with what anyone else (including their milk and butter US players) thinks.
So Ubisoft is kissing Chinese ass, interesting, I been buying their games since ghost recon back around 2000 and the recent one I got was ghost recon wild lands.
Thank you.
Don’t think that’ll go over well with your typical tactical FPS player.
Nope, they will potentially screw a very lucrative game presence.
Their players are not just young kids. I’m 68, still working full time, and have played FPS games for years. There are many more in their 40s, and 50s. My generation started the gaming industry and still many of us who are as avid gamers as our grandkids.
Bowing to the SJW stupidity will mean a loss for them.
much ado about nothing
The censors
Who ver they are
Have a hard time these days
concur
I’m one of ‘em... Many of us started FPS with Wolfenstein, then moved on to Doom, etc. ;)
I still fire up HL an HL2 sometimes :D
