They’ve been putting composting toilets in RV’s for a few years. I’ve heard they work pretty well, but they could have been just sh8tting me.
A few years back I did a little research for a cousin on composting toilets who was interested in them. Turns out they are really disgusting things that require constant maintenance. Since I’ve owned a cruising sailboat and still own a power cruiser, I’ve become familiar with holding tanks and toilet chemical. As far as I’m concerned, they’re the way to go, as long as there are available pump out facilities. Indeed, an excellent piece of legislation is to require all overnight marinas and RV campgrounds to have adequate pump out facilities.

What’s the point? You have to dump the tanks anyway. All campgrounds have dump stations.
