China's 'Terminator' Tank Support Vehicle Is Bristling With Weaponry
Popular Mechanics ^ | November 7, 2018 | Kyle Mizokami

A new armored vehicle designed to kill—well, everything—on the battlefield is ambitiously described by the manufacturer as the “New King of Ground Warfare.” Unveiled at the ongoing Zhuhai Air Show, the QN-506 is China’s version of the Russian 'Terminator' tank support vehicle. QN-506 is armed with a machine gun, grenades, a light cannon, two types of missiles, and even drones.

One of the newer concepts in armored warfare is the idea of a tank support combat vehicle. The vehicle was developed by Russia after the end of the Cold War, when the Russian Army sustained heavy tank and armored vehicle losses fighting Chechen rebels. From this experience was born the BMP-T, or 'Terminator.'

These vehicles are a modern version of the German Sturmgeschütz from World War II. More heavily armored vehicles than the IFV to provide anti-infantry firepower and other functions to MBTs and mounted infantry in more traditional IFVs and APCs.

Does it come with a phased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range?

Looks like the perfect LAV to use against your own population in a Communist country.

1) That’s not a tank
2) That’s a chain gun, not a typical cannon you’d see on a main battle tank
3) It looks like a low-profile version of the Bradley except for that weird sight popping up really high in the center of the vehicle (and it doesn’t appear capable of hauling dismounts). Obviously it’s meant for peaking over an IV line for recon purposes, but it also makes it a great target for small arms fire
4) That’s not a tank

The article call the Russian version a BMP-T. Those aren’t BMP road wheels, though. Looks like it’s riding on a shortened T-72 chassis; 5 road wheels, vs 6. Just an observation I find interesting.

The second one is free!

All you pay for is the extra shipping and handling!

Wouldn’t one of these make a great stocking-stuffer for the kids?
