Make Democrats swallow bitter red pills
American Thinker ^ | 8 Nov, 2018 | Pat Patterson

Now that the smoke has cleared and we view the carnage, it's important to note that the last laugh should be on the Democrats. Republicans have until January 2nd, 2019 to make that a reality.

With a little under two months left before the new Democrat majority in the House is sworn in, Republicans can push through every single element of President Trump's agenda. Fund the wall. Check. Increase the tax cuts to the middle class. Check. Make all the tax cuts permanent. Check. Ratify the new USMCA agreement. Check. Abolish birthright citizenship. Check. Finalize a limited DACA. Check. Did I leave anything out?

While the Republicans still hold a majority in both houses, it's time to use that power. Push all the legislation through. And the real beauty of it all? There isn't a thing the Democrats can do about it.

Once all the bills are passed and signed into law, it wouldn't matter if the Democrats held a 200-seat advantage in the House. The Republican-controlled Senate will not pass any legislation to undo what they did while walking out the door in 2018. Let them investigate all they want. They're powerless to impose any of their harebrained ideas without the Senate. Impeachment? Laughable.

This is exactly what they must do.

I could be wrong but suspect the stupid party will trip all over itself in a frantic effort to do nothing.

This is funny, in a sad, sick way.

If Republicans had that kind of drive and desire, they wouldn’t have lost the majority.

Build the wall - fail
Repeal and replace Obamacare - fail
Defund planned parenthood - fail

Lose control of the House - check

Politicians are a particularly vile life form.

They would have to do reconciliation to avoid the self-imposed 60 vote cloture rule. If I were the R’s I would fund the wall in a reconciliation bill where you only need 51 votes. Sure it only works for 10 years buy the wall would long since be completed.

That being said the Globalist Chamber of Commerce will muscle in and Ryan will lead the charge against funding the wall, write it down. One last stab in the back by this little bought and paid for punk.

What makes you think they won’t do this? Now that those who ran away from Trump and lost have learned their lesson they will need work in January. That work will be on our side of the divide. NOTHING in between will be available to them and screwing with Trump’s agenda will not help them find work.

Did I leave anything out?

Yes.

Pass national reciprocity. Check.

Pass the Hearing Protection Act. Check.

It will not happen because the House and Senate are still infested with a bunch of RINOs.

Schumer can filibuster

For how long? For the duration, until the new Congress is sworn in and seated? Will he filibuster through the Christmas recess?

Yep.
I’m sure Paul Ryan (who I think is still Speaker of the House) will bring all these issues up.
Yep, I’m sure.

They already have work lined up with Democrat lobbyists rewarding them for opposing Trump.

Riiiiight. And they haven't done in during the nearly two years, whyyyyyy? The Demagogic Party is going to drag out the Mueller stuff for another two years (minimum), President Trump just sucked them right on into doing that with the Sessions separation. That's going to be a distraction around here as well. Keep your powder dry.

They’re not stupid.

They’re complicit.

“ummm RINO Ryan won’t do a darn thing”

Ryan wouldn’t have funded the wall if the GOP had retained the House. He checked out months ago but kept his position in order to prevent an energetic new speaker (Jordan perhaps) from going on the campaign trail and possibly saving the majority.
