Yes, one would agree, that the act of trying to bust thru someone's front door would morally justify putting at least one bullet thru the door in defense. (Not thru the exact middle of the door, one would think... maybe more like about 4' high and at about the two-thirds point between the hinge side and the latch side...)

That's a moot point however, as the law in (probably) all states requires that one wait until they've actually busted the door down and have made entry into one's home before opening fire on them.

Not saying that's right, just saying that's the way it is.
