Kul-Oba an ancient archaeological site, a Scythian burial tumulus (kurgan), located near Kerch in eastern Crimea. Kul-Oba was the first Scythian royal barrow to be excavated in modern times. Uncovered in 1830, the stone tomb yielded a wealth of precious artifacts which drew considerable public interest to Scythian world. Of particular interest is an intricately granulated earring with two Nike figurines and Serpent-Legged Goddess, now in the Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg.The tomb was built around 400 to 350 BC.
The body of the king lay by the east wall on a sumptuous wooden couch. His social position was highlighted by a diadem encircling his head, surmounted by a pointed felt headgear with gold pendants. His neck was decorated by a large gold disk weighing 461 grams. Each wrist was adorned with one to three bracelets. A separate section of the couch contained other grave goods, including a phial, a whip, a knife, and a quiver - all inlaid with gold or precious stones.

I was looking at that particular pic last night too.
I got to wondering, what’s the chance that those protruding parts on the stonework were pictoglyphs or writings that got defaced?
It is awful odd to have such clean borders around the raised rough parts and such close fitting uniformly sized blocks.

The whole structure is stunning and it’s almost inconceivable to me how these things were built without heavy machinery that we have today.
Simply incredible.
Of course what is going on today with the elections matters.
But you kind of realize when you see things like this that this too shall pass.
We are but a blink in time and will possibly be someone else’s archaeological dig one day.
If they'd had contact with the Hindus, which isn't that farfetched, then perhaps. But probably something all their own.
I'm wondering not only that golden charm and the Hindu Kali are from the same source, but also if what later became the Gorgon as well.

Some of us sooner than others -- that's assuming of course that the left doesn't ultimately win. If they do, there will be no more archaeology or pure research (unless the latter is related to military or espionage).
If they'd had some native writing system by the time this was constructed, it would also be seen in their other art. Alas, it is not..

In their previous homeland, they knew of the alleged skeletons of dragons, among other things — and these were fossils of dinos and other extinct forms, and as it happens, are still visible today, and helped track down where they used to live.

Interesting that people who live where there are no tornadoes or forest fires build houses that are tornado and fire proof.
There are other hazards of course, one of them being other humans.
