Moments after arriving on Capitol Hill for freshman orientation, Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., went to the office of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
It wasn’t to speak with Pelosi about her run for House speakership. But to join an impromptu sit-in outside of Pelosi’s office to push for congressional action on climate change.
“We need to tell her that we’ve got her back in showing and pursuing the most progressive energy agenda that this country has even seen,” Ocasio-Cortez said while standing in the middle of a group of around 200 protestors holding signs reading “Green Jobs For All.”

This is the slow-burn version of The French Revolution. And, I think your take is spot-on. A couple of the declared socialist candidates who hadn’t even been elected yet were already saying that when they got there the old guard would need to step aside and hand over power to them. (I don’t know if any of these candidates made it other than Ocasio-Cortez. I suspect the old guard did as much as possible behind the scenes to make certain those candidates lost.)
The Democratic party brought this debacle down on itself. The rise of the Lunatic Left, which had been latent for a long time, was precipitated by Obama. Obama is like cocaine to the Left. He excites them beyond reason, but will ultimately prove fatal to the party.

I told my husband yesterday that the dems have a tiger by the tail. Ocasio-Cortez and some of the other newbies they have are not going to play by the old rules and attempts to make them will not set well with their supporters. It will be interesting to watch.

When we’re going to need the popcorn is when HRH Pelosi calls in AOC to her office for a come-to-Jesus moment. AOC will be told exactly what’s what, and I expect a few threats will be introduced to the conversation. NP will say/do whatever she typically does to get her troops in order.

You are the only one who got this correct. I read the DU thread about this yesterday and they completely lost it. Just goes to show that you should have all the facts before you open your mouth.
At the very least, there will be a lot more people like Ocasio-Cortez upsetting White Democrats in primaries.
