My wife and I had a great old boxer dog, Bennie. He died last year at the age of fifteen ......... pretty darn long for a dog, I suppose. He was a beautiful, quiet genius of a dog. When he ran out in our four acres, he trotted like a horse. The sound of his paws on the ground was beautiful. (I wish I knew how to post his picture to here.)
He appreciated drinking beer. I got to the point that I was allowing him about eight ounces of beer a day (not every day). He just liked it ..... never got wasted ....but he started to crave donuts and began gambling on a few football games.

Since I reloaded it last week, my lab has been spending inordinate time staring at my humidor....perhaps due to the beer and the NFL boycott in our house.

Just like my fat old dachshund, Rhubarb. She was known to start at the head and find the bottom of my beer mug from time to time. *chuckle* She knew when to stop, when she’d get that sleepy-eyed look and just lay there, wagging her tail over nothing. I miss that dog.
