Roy Clark, country guitar virtuoso, 'Hee Haw' star, has died KRISTIN M. HALL KRISTIN M. HALL Associated PressNovember 15, 2018, 1:21 PM CST Country star Roy Clark, the guitar virtuoso and singer who headlined the cornpone TV show "Hee Haw" for nearly a quarter century and was known for such hits as "Yesterday When I was Young" and "Honeymoon Feeling," has died. He was 85.
Publicist Jeremy Westby said Clark died Thursday due to complications from pneumonia at home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was amazing and such great comedic timing. Loved him as a kid.

Our company in Phoenix hired him to put on a show for our customer conference about 25 years ago. My wife and I attended. We were both amazed at how entertaining a show it was. He was far more than a guitar virtuoso. He really knew how to entertain.
I was just in Nashville and went to the Country Music Hall of Fame. I saw Buck’s Red, White & Blue guitar.

Roy Clark and Glen Campbell were two of the best guitarists and musicians ever.
He originally wanted to play pro baseball.
just dang. underappreciated guitar master.
I used his books to learn guitar when I was a kid.

We all were.
Memories of my youth - many evenings watching him on Hee-Haw, will be sorely missed.
