Has anyone noticed the deference paid Governor Elect Gavin Newsome? He is at every public event. As acting governor," he declared a state of emergency for the fire damaged area. Why would he have to act on this. Brown is still governor. He joined Brown and Trump touring fire damage. There is not a public event that he is not at.
I have never seen anything like this. Trump, as President Elect, did not join in on conferences or the greetings of heads of state with Obama nor Obama with Bush. In fact, I have never seen an elected official, prior to being sworn in, ever act in a official capacity. Is it just me or is this very strange?

Gavin has been waiting for this moment for years.
Maybe he’s uncommonly ambitious because of all the anticipation. He wanted to be Gov. years ago, but ‘the legendary’ Jerry Brown has woke up one morning and decided HE wanted to be Gov. again. I think Brown had just gotten done being mayor of Oakland. He decided he wasn’t done yet and wanted that position. There is still enough clout to the Brown name so that he got it.
Gavin was Atty. Gen. for a while, something he called a thankless job. Soon he was ready to try for Senator.
But wait, not so fast! There was a certain woman attorney who wanted that job too. She had several points in her favor, she was female, she was mixed race, identifying as black, she was articulate and physically attractive to the eye. Oh, and she was known to have a (very) close relationship with another Brown, Willie Brown, a former
Mayor of San Francisco. So it was she who got promoted for Senator. Gavin was passed over once again.
Finally, Gavin (Nephew of Nancy Pelosi!) gets his turn.
So he’s feeling crazier than a bedbug and twice as excited.

This is the start of his 2020 Presidential Election Campaign.
He is planning to throw his hat into the ring in 2020 along with 30 other Democrats. He figures if a Democrat wins in 2020 he’d have to wait 8 years for his chance...so now’s the time. This guy is over-ambitious and not very smart...a dangerous combination.
Newsom is the protege of San Francisco’s old political machine, the so called “downtown interests”, of old money like the Gettys and Shorensteins. The same people who backed Feinstein. These people are considered “conservative” in San Francisco.
They are founding components of the local deep state.
Interestingly Robert Mueller came out of this lot also, getting his career start as an attorney at Pillsbury Madison and Sutro, the principal law firm for the downtown interests. He was later US Attorney in Northern California for six years. He was about a decade here.
Not to worry, once he gets settled in, he’ll be governing from his family home in Idaho or is it Montana?

Just a gut feeling but I predict Newsom will make Brown look sane and measured, and will eventually leave office in handcuffs.
