I once saw a designer sweater in Taipei that said “nigger in a woodpile.”
And it had a little black anime character on it.

Kept my eye open for more, but I guess that brand didn’t survive.

My mother once said that when she was a girl in Brooklyn, N.Y., they had a brand of stove polish called “N—ger Head.”

It even had a picture of a black guy’s head on the can!

Imagine how that would go over today.

Also, speaking of Hong Kong, there was once a brand of toothpaste there called “Darkie.”

In recent years, they changed the name to “Darlie.”
