Matt Lauer is struggling to cope with his life away from the TV cameras — but isn’t thinking of making “a comeback” or getting back to work anytime soon, according to a new report.
The scandal-scarred former morning talk show host has been keeping a low profile since he was fired from the “Today” show precisely one year ago amid a torrent of sexual misconduct allegations.
“It has been hard for him. He went from being a super busy person to having nothing but time on his hands,” the source close to Lauer told People magazine. “He is not doing well.”
Lauer has been focusing his attention on his kids, Jack, 17, Romy, 14, and Thijs, 11. He and estranged wife Annette Roque continue to live together at their 12-bedroom manse in the Hamptons as they work to finalize their divorce. …

If he wants to be buys, he can put his time to use in countless ways.... After spending decades lecturing everyone else with his TV platform about how many liberal causes there are.... Sure his local churches, soup kitchens, or various other social services volunteer organizations will happily take help.... Salvation Army perhaps? Or is that a little too much, living up to your lecturing there Matt?
I’m sure the arrogant prick is completely unchastened by the ordeal, and still quietly thinks of himself as the real victim.

I wish nothing but the worst for Matt Lauer and his ilk. And surprisingly, it doesn’t make me feel like a bad person in the least.
In the early 1960s, the UK was rocked by a sex scandal involving John Profumo. He was a powerful political figure, very much from the British upper class.
He left public life and chose to spend the rest of his years in service. I believe he started out by cleaning toilets at a simple charity. He eventually got positions of responsibility (he was very suited for such a position) but I think he spent about 30 years in service to others, making atonement for his escapade.
I don’t imagine Matt Lauer will follow in those footsteps.
He can afford to day-drink with the Chivas for a pretty long time.
