There is a small lake at Oceana NAS where we used to hang out and watch aviators practice their touch and go landings.
My brother was stationed at Oceana NAS back in 1989-90. Flew an A-6. My sister and I used to go visit all the time. Good times hanging at the O-Club. (My sister married another pilot...they have 8 kids..one of whom got her wings in Pensacola a few months ago and is flying Seahawks).
Nothing to do with the discussion at hand but at one point when I was young in the early 90s I lived on Oceana NAS in the old family housing that got torn down many years ago and always I heard the planes take off and land plus see planes like the old F 14 tomcat back then, I kinda miss those days.
