"......all courtesy of the tax payers outside the DC Swamp."

Anti-Trumper headquarters. These people do good in any economy. What they don't want is the boat rocked.

Money, which represents the prose of life, and which is hardly spoken of in parlors without an apology, is, in its effects and laws, as beautiful as roses.

All one needs to do is drive around Northern Virginia, NoVa, and the place reeks of greenbacks. Lots of fancy cars, and construction cranes all courtesy of the tax payers outside the DC Swamp.

Ping to BroJoeK and others.

Pay attention BroJoeK. This is what it's always been about.

And they all vote Left, (with a few exceptions).

Note, not democrat or republican, just left.

I grew up in and have always lived in cities, but I would rather have a few hundred acres with water on it than a mansion in some overcrowded area around DC.

DC metro is the best socialism that capitalism can provide.

Started in the Civil War. Power was concentrated in the New York/Washington DC corridor, and has remained there ever since.

Why would this surprise anyone?

A very high % of the nation’s high-functioning sociopaths are attracted to Northern Virginia and eastern Maryland.

Dystopian novels should never be becoming our reality.

Howard County, MD is where all the rich Blacks live.

My daughter(McLean) says that Amazon may finally cause the island of NoVa to capsize and tip over.

My daughter went to D.C. on a class trip. She wondered why there was so much ghetto in one area and then beautiful areas the next especially in our nation’s CAPITAL. That is a simple observation but anyone who knows that area and the dynamics of liberal urban areas in all American cities know this reality. The “middle class” is an abused term but I will say without one in America, this country will end up being much worse than France.

I thought it was almost tolerable but it was Thanksgiving weekend and it looked like everyone was leaving on Wednesday.

Don’t forget the alphabet agencies, NSA itself is the largest employer in Maryland. It completely makes sense that high-functioning sociopaths would seek careers around and in DC.

We were transferred to VA. in the mid 70’s. We were living on Long Island and had no idea what we were about to face housing wise. We were shocked by the price of homes. We settled for a 4 bedroom colonial in Falls Church. The tiniest house I have ever lived in. The majority of our neighbors were government employees and living in large homes. I hated every minute we lived there. Fourteen months later we landed in N.J., outside Philly, and I loved it. That didn’t last as we had two more moves in the next 3 years.

TRUTH! I thought it was bad when I left in 1981. I dread the drive up to visit family, it is a nightmare.
