BEL AIR, Maryland (CNN/WJZ/Meredith) – Police in Bel Air, Maryland are searching for the person who was caught on camera stealing a package from someone's doorstep.
But police say the suspect is no more than eight years old.
In broad daylight, a little girl became the center of attention. She's the tiniest porch pirate seen so far, and it's all caught on a home security camera.
Vallan Hardison had ordered a pair of boots online. She said she was shocked to find out such a young child came up to her door and stole the package containing the boots.
In the video, you can see the little girl stop and look behind her before she makes her move.
“The fact that you could kind of see her conversing with someone off to the side who's kind of directing them to come up and grab the package… It's like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I couldn't believe it,” Hardison said.
Harford County Sheriff's deputies have watched this stunning video and their investigation is underway.

Put your old boxes on the porch full of dog crap or anything else disgusting. Put a note inside asking the porch pirate if they got anything they needed.
I guess a Fagin is involved somewhere.

No one goes down my road and dummy UPS driver left a box of fruit at a door I dont use(has a sign on it UPS use back door)and 2 days later when I found it every thing was frozen

Also title should read “Child Caught Stealing Box From Porch”...
Boots is irrelevant cause the kids guardian (thats funny) “dint know what be in da box” when they sent her up to steal it.
Stating ‘Stealing Boots” some how tries to conjure up sympathy for the little mis guided thief
Most likely kid's mom or older sibling. They know the police will not touch an 8 year old.
Probably saw the kid a few minutes later at the buss stop in her red coat and white winter hat.

Not so long ago, thieves would follow the mailman on certain days to steal Social Security checks from mailboxes.
Years ago there was a problem with people breaking into cars at a large mall nearby...a few friends and I decided to do just that with a friends van.
After a day of preparing we drove back up to the mall and parked the van (with ...8 gift wrapped boxes with dog chit, cat turds,and used cooking oil from a White Castle. It didn’t take
long for 4 ferals to show up, check out the van, and they moved along,..after ten minutes they came back in a small car. As they pulled up
they jumped out of the car ran to the van,yanked open the side door(unlocked) *smiles* and off they went...It’s worth the effort,especially with cam cameras now a days.....
Drug dealers were known to push a large cardboard box [ex-refrigerator] up to a home's window, cut some openings in it, and drugs and cash would be exchanged by a "juvenile".
There's always a fagin somewhere he don't belong.
Too bad she didn’t have a camera on the front porch. 8 years old is not that young for thievery. They start younger than that. That’s reality.
Using a small child to perpetrate this crime is especially despicable.
