1) It's simple, effective messaging to mock leftists' histrionics surrounding all things Trump.

2) You apparently have no idea what "virtue-signalling" means.

Curious if you read the article and my comment in relation to it.

I was referring to this: "and I’ve realized that this generalization about college students is not unlike racists thinking every brown person is a terrorist, or people thinking that every orange-faced, yellow-haired person is a lying idiot. Most brown people have yet to blow anything up, and most orange-faced yellow-haired people are decent Floridians."

And in response to these obvious references to the President, I said:

"He just couldn’t resist the “orange man bad” throwaway line.

Comments like that had a small element of comedic value two years ago and for the first couple thousand tellings. Now it’s just tired, juvenile, virtue-signalling pap."

Try as I might, I don't see how the above by the cited comedian is " simple, effective messaging to mock leftists' histrionics surrounding all things Trump" or how my comments demonstrate that I "have no idea what "virtue-signalling" means.

But if you still think that's the case, please elaborate for my enlightenment.
