Weve all heard about the conspiracy theories at Denver International Airport now - another real mystery is brewing there.
A woman [Natasha Gay] called the FOX31 Problem Solvers to say her car was stolen several months ago.
And then it just reappeared. She wants answers and so do we. ..."
Gays 2007 Toyota SUV was stolen from the Avis employee parking lot in late July.
She had a temporary job at Avis at the time.
I was definitely panicking at that moment because I was really just wondering what happened.
Then on Thursday morning, almost five months later, a call came saying her car had been returned to the same parking lot.

I knew a guy that had a car stolen in San Antonio. It turned up a few blocks away a couple of weeks later with a 100 peso Mexican note in the door pocket and a lot of extra mileage on the odometer. We all figured it had made a round trip to Mexico.

My guess is this was an insurance scam to get cash from the insurance company which had paid off the loan. Now comes the time when the plates have to be renewed and she realizes she can't renew them because it's already been reported as stolen......

We know a young LEO, who has called us Mom and Dad since he was a teenager.
He told us over a decade how car thieves steal, a car change the license plates and then drive the stolen car for weeks if not months.
He said they have at least two people and preferably 3 three involved. They steal a car and drive to a mall and park next to another car with standard license plates.
Two guys get out and take off the plates of the stolen car with their portable electric drivers. Then they take off the plates of the ‘donor’ car, install, the plates from the stolen vehicle. This takes about a minute per plate.
Next, they attach the stolen plates on the stolen vehicle and drive away.
Most of us never pay attention to our license plates nor do we know what the numbers are.
I have a personalized license plate and frame. The frame is attached with allen screws that can only be turned with a special sized allen wrench that comes with the frame.
Probably the dang mapping system’s fault...
